Anesthesia Library Reports

The following Anesthesia Library reports can be generated from File Maintenance. The Report columns display information related to specific areas of setup for each library. Anesthesia Library Listing: This report includes information defined in the top section of the Anesthesia Library Maintenance window. Anesthesia with Payer Detail: This report includes information defined on the Anesthesia Library Payer Maintenance window for the Medical Direction, Concurrency Rules, and Claim Options tabs. Anesthesia with SIM Options: This report includes information defined on the Anesthesia Library Payer Maintenance window for the SIM Options tab. Add or Modify an Anesthesia Library

Access File Maintenance. Select Libraries, and then Anesthesia. The Anesthesia Library List window opens. Do one of the following: To create a new library, select open menu button and select New. To modify an existing library, select the library from the list, and then select open menu button and select Open. The Anesthesia Library Maintenance window opens. In the Anesthesia Library Name field, enter a name for the library. This field is required. In the Provider Specialty Mapping section, select the appropriate specialties for all Medical Directors, CRNAs and Anesthesiologist Assistants in the practice. These fields are required. Note: The specialties available for selection are from the Specialties master file in File Maintenance. The appropriate specialty must be linked to each anesthesia provider in the Providers master file, on the Practice tab, in the Specialty field. In the Default Anesthesia Concurrency Audit Report field, select a previously memorized version of the Anesthesia

Set Up SIM Options for OB Anesthesia Billing

To accommodate OB epidural billing needs, the Anesthesia Library > SIM Options tab includes a number of settings that may be helpful. Access File Maintenance. Select Libraries, and then Anesthesia. The Anesthesia Library List window opens. Double-click to open the desired library. The Anesthesia Library Maintenance window opens. In the Concurrency and Claim Rules section, do one of the following: To create a new rule, select the Open Menu button and select New. The Anesthesia Library Payer Maintenance window opens. Generate a Non-Coordinated SIM Library Report

To generate the Non-Coordinated SIM Library reports, do the following: Open File Maintenance. Select Libraries, and then Non-Coordinated SIM Library. The Non-Coordinated SIM List window opens. Select open menu button and select Print. The Non-Coordinated SIM Library Reports menu opens. Select one of the following reports: Non-Coordinated SIM Library Listing Non-Coordinated SIM Libraries with Payer Detail The NextGen Report Filter window opens. Select the desired columns, filters and sorting for the report. To generate the report, select OK. The report opens. Anesthesia Library

The Anesthesia library is used by practices that do Anesthesia Concurrency Billing in NextGen® Enterprise PM. It is not typically used by practices using Basic Anesthesia Billing. The Anesthesia library enables you to define rules that apply to specific payers only, rules that apply to all other payers, and rules that apply to self-pay. Each set of rules may include one or more of the following: Medical Direction: These rules determine whether modifiers are added to charges based on the level of medical direction and whether charges will split between Medical Directors and CRNAs. Concurrency Rules: These rules define specific parameters, such as the maximum number of concurrent procedures allowed, whether a Medical Director can perform and direct at the same time, and split-charge percentages for Medical Directors vs CRNAs. Claim Options: These rules define specific claim parameters, such as whether or not surgical procedure codes are included on claims, and how claims break by renderi
