Create Claim Modifiers for Rental SIMs

The Claim Modifiers library adds units to the total rental units on rental charges based on the modifiers used. For more information about setting up rental modifiers, see the information as below:

The Anesthesia Modifiers library adds units to the total anesthesia units on anesthesia charges based on modifiers used. The following is a typical list of Physical Status modifiers and units:

P1 = 0 units

P2 = 0 units

P3 = 1 unit

P4 = 2 units

P5 = 3 units

P6 = 0 units

If you use one or more of the modifiers in Charge Entry for Anesthesia SIMs, the additional units are added to the total anesthesia units used in order to calculate the charge. The modifiers will add units in any of the four modifier positions.

The following is an example of how an anesthesia modifier affects an anesthesia calculation:

Anesthesia SIM 00120 is keyed and it has a price of $50 and 5 base units.

The time is 9:00-10:00 for 60 minutes. Because the payer uses 15-minute time units, the time is equal to 4 time units.

The Modifier P4, which is set to 2 units in the library, is used.

All units are added together for 11 total anesthesia units.

11 units x $50 = $550
