Master Files

window opens.
Note:
Select the
Include Hidden Items
check box to include hidden items in the master file list.
From the list, do one of the following:
To add a new item, select the open menu button and select
New
.
To modify an item, double-click the item to open it.

Temple Engravement
window opens.
Enter the temple engraving information in the following fields:

Description
, enter a description of the category for engraving temples, such as initials and phone numbers. This field is required.

, enter any additional information.
If you want to hide the item in the list, select the
Hide
check box.

to add another item or

to return to the Temples list.

Configure Temple Styles
Use the Temples master file to set up a list of temple styles that your practice offers. From the Master Files > Optical Management, select Temples. The Temples List window opens. Note: Select the Include Hidden Items check box to include hidden items in the master file list. From the list, do one of the following: To add a new item, select the open menu button and select New. Setting Up the Inventory Adjustment Reason
Use the Inventory Adjustment Reason master file to specify the reason for an adjustment to inventory in the NextGen® Optical Management application. When building this master file, you must consider not only why the change in inventory is occurring, but also whether it is a write off, return, or transfer. From the Master Files - Optical Management list, select Inventory Adjustment Reason. The Inventory Adjustment Reason List window opens. From the list, do one of the following: To add a new item, select Open Menu and then select New. To modify an item, select the item in the list, select Open Menu, and then select Open. The Inventory Adjustment Reason window opens. Enter a short description explaining the reason for the adjustment in the Description field. Configure Optical Vendors
The Vendors master file enables you to create a list of manufacturers used in NextGen® Optical Management. CAUTION: You must set up the Vendors master file before creating a brand in the Brand master file. Open File Maintenance and select Master Files > Optical Management and select Vendors. The Vendors List window opens. To include the hidden items in the master file list, select the Include Hidden Items check box . From the vendors list, do one of the following: To add a new vendor, select the open menu button and select New. To modify an existing vendor, double-click the item to open it. The Optical Vendor window opens. On the Vendor Detail tab, enter the vendor information in the respective fields. Note: To hide the vendor in the vendors list, select the Hide check box. Configure Frame Materials
The Frame Material master file enables you to create a list of materials used for frames. From the Master Files > Optical Management, select Frame Material. The Frame Material List window opens. Note: Select the Include Hidden Items check box to include hidden items in the master file list. From the list, do one of the following: To add a new item, select the open menu button and select New. To modify an item, double-click the item to open it. The Frame Material window opens. Enter the information for frame material in the following fields: In Description, enter a short description of the material used in frames, such as titanium. This field is required. Configure Eyeglass Bridges
The Bridges master file enables you to add the type of available eyeglass bridges. From the Master Files > Optical Management list, select Bridges.The Bridges List window opens. Note: Select the Include Hidden Items check box to include hidden items in the master file list. From the list, do one of the following: To add a new item, select the open menu button and select New. To modify an item, double-click the item to open it. The Bridges window opens. Enter information for bridges in the following fields: In Description, enter a short description that identifies the type of bridge. This field is required. In Note, enter any additional information. Remake Reasons
You can only access the Remake Reasons master file if you are licensed for NextGen® Optical Management. Use the Remake Reason master file to create a list of reasons for remaking a contact or eyeglass order. To add or modify a remake reason: From the Master Files - Optical Management list, select Remake Reason. The Remake Reason List window opens. From the list, do one of the following: To add a new item, select the Open Menu button and then select New. To modify an item, select the item in the list, select the Open Menu button, and then select Open. The Remake Reason window opens. Enter the remake reasons according to the following table.
