Add User-Defined Medications Field Descriptions

You can use this table when adding user-defined medications.

FieldDescription
Brand NameEnter the brand name of the medication.
Generic NameEnter the generic name of the medication.
FormSelect the form in which the medication is administered.
DEA ClassSelect the Drug Enforcement Agency Class that indicates the degree of potential abuse and level of Federal control over the medication.
StrengthEnter the medication strength.
RouteSelect the method in which the medication is administered.
Assigned UDM ID
Quantity/ RefillsSet the default values for the quantity and number of refills.
Generic OKSpecify whether the generic brand equivalent is permitted for the medication.
Default SIGSelect List Codes or List Description to determine how you want the medication directions to list in the drop-down field below. Then, select the drop-down button to select a specific SIG Code for the medication.
Generic SourceSelect the source for the generic medications.
StatusSelect Prescription Only or Over the Counter.
Do not allow faxingIf the state does not allow faxed prescriptions for this medication, select this check box to prevent users from doing so.
State DEA ClassBy default, this field automatically displays the same class selected in the DEA Class field.

If necessary, select a different DEA class according to state DEA regulations. You can select a class equal to or lower than the one selected in the DEA Class field.
