Practice Preferences for Advance Patient Payments
You can set the following preferences for payment of patient services:
- Specifying the percentage that the patient must pay for a service in advance.
- Controlling the updating of co-pay and deductible components at the insurance maintenance level.
- Obtaining the allowed and coinsurance amounts for cost estimation.

| Patient Payment % | Enter the percentage of payment the patient must make in advance. |
| Update patient insurance with copay/deductible information from cost estimation | Select this option to update the co-pay and deductible amount in the patient insurance maintenance from cost estimation. |

| Allowed Amount Source | Select the source location to obtain the allowed amount.
You can select one of the following options:
If you select Both, select Search first by to search contract or transaction history first. |
| Transaction History Date | This field is available only if you selected Both or Transaction History as the allowed amount source. Specify the date range for the transactions in which the system must search for the allowed amount. |
| Allowed Amount | This field is available only if you selected Both or Transaction History as the allowed amount source. Determines the options to calculate the allowed amount and consider for cost estimation. |
| Search for Coinsurance | |
| Coinsurance Source | Select the source location to obtain the coinsurance amount.
