Payers Master File

Payers are the third-party entities, other than guarantors or employers, that you expect to receive reimbursement from. Some examples of payers are commercial insurance companies, Medicaid, and Medicare. In the Payers master file, you can specify the contract associated with the payer, the participating providers, how to submit claims, and other general payer information. You can generate Payers Master File reports from the Payers master file. Employers

The Employers master file allows you to store information about the employers in your area. You can add insurance in advance so, when attached to a patient, data entry is expedited. This table can be built "on the fly" as you are adding patient information. In File Maintenance, select System > Employers. The Employers List window opens. Select Open Menu , and then select New. The Employer Maintenance window opens. Complete the fields on the Employer Defaults tab. Once you've entered the employer's information, select OK to save or Next to add another employer. Add an Employer

Open the Person Information or Patient Information window for the desired person or patient. Select the Employer tab. Select the open menu , and select New. The Employer Lookup window appears. In the Employer Name field, enter all or part of the employer's name. Select Find. All employers that match the search criteria entered display in the Matching Records list. Note: Items available for selection are from the Employers master file in File Maintenance. If no records are found, the following prompt appears stating that no records were found. From the Matching Records list, double-click to select the employer. The Employer Maintenance window appears. Fields on the Employer Maintenance window are available for modification only if you have security access rights in System Administrator to update the Employers master file.
