Attach Formats to a Payer

From the Master Files - System list, select Payers, and then double-click the appropriate payer.The Modify Payer Information window opens. Select the Payer Defaults - 2 tab. Select the Require Policy Number check box if you want to require a policy number. Select the drop-down arrow in the Policy Number Format field and select one from the list if you want to use a specific format for the policy number. Select the Require Group Number check box if you want to require a group number. Select the drop-down arrow in the Group Number Format field and select one from the list if you want to use a specific format for the group number. Note: The Group Number field on the Insurance Maintenance window has a maximum field length of 19 characters. The Format Name for any format that exceeds this limit does not display in the Group Number Format list. Select OK. Delete Formats

You can only delete the number formats that are specified. From the Master Files - System list, select Formats. The Formats List window opens. Double-click a format in the Formats list. The Formats window opens. In the Acceptable Number Formats list, select a number format. Select Open Menu , and then select Delete. Note: You can also right-click a number format, then select Delete. Add or Modify Format Sets

A format set contains one or more formats. From the Master Files - System list, select Formats. The Formats List window opens. Do one of the following: To add a new item, select open menu , and then select New. To modify an existing item, select the item in the list, select open menu , and then select Open. You can also double-click to open the item. The Formats window opens. In the Format Name field, enter a name for the format set. Do one of the following: To add a new format, select Open Menu , then select New. To modify a format, double-click a format in the Acceptable Number Formats list. The Format Detail window opens. Enter the format value in the Format Value field. Use the following information to help define the appropriate format value. Valid entries include: A – represents any character or space B – represents a letter (A to Z) C – represents a digit (0-9) D – represents a letter (A-Z) or a digit (0-9) The code's position in the format means that only those character types

The Modifiers master file provides a complete list of modifiers in the database. This table may be populated through your billing system. From the Master Files - System list, select Modifier. The Modifiers List window opens. From the Modifiers List window, do one of the following: To add a new item, select Open Menu , and then select New. To modify an item, select the item in the list, select Open Menu , and then select Open. To modify an item, enter an asterisk in the List Search field to display the existing modifiers. Then, double-click the modifier you want to change. The Add/Modify Modifier Information window opens. In the Modifier Key field, enter an industry standard abbreviation (two-character maximum) for the modifier. In the Modifier Description field, enter the full description for the modifier. In the Note field, enter any additional information. If you want to hide the item in the list, select the Hide check box. Select Next to add another item or select OK to return to th
