Advanced Alerting

Advanced Alerting provides metric, exception, and state-based monitoring of channels and connectors. Additional features include automatic escalation and de-escalation, scheduling, and notification throttling. Using advanced alerts, dynamically send different alert messages to different user groups based on the current escalation level, time, and day. Edit Alert View

Use the Edit Alert view to configure and modfiy alerts. An alert is a process that listens for certain types of events and triggers based on configurable settings. From these triggers you can take various actions, like dispatching an e-mail to a user or specific address, or sending a message to a channel. Mirth® Connect by NextGen Healthcare comes with a built-in Error-based alerting system that listens for error events from selected channels. The Advanced Alerting extension adds on this by also including powerful metric-based alerts, escalation levels, scheduling, notification throttling, and other advanced features. The Edit Alert view is where alerts are configured / modified. Once saved, an alert will be displayed on the Alerts view, which is like a dashboard for your currently configured alerts. Advanced Alerting - SSL Certificate Validation Trigger

Note: Advanced Alerting is a separate extension available for Mirth® Connect by NextGen Healthcare. The following features are only available when both the SSL Manager and Advanced Alerting are installed. Installing the Advanced Alerting Extension

The Advanced Alerting extension can be installed by using the Administrator by extracting the contents of the installation file into the extensions directory inside the Mirth® Connect installation directory. The Advanced Alerting extension is installed like other Mirth® Connect extensions. You can complete the installation through the Administrator in the Extensions view or by extracting the contents of the installation ZIP file into the extensions directory inside the Mirth® Connect installation directory. For older versions of Mirth® Connect, you can install the plugin by using Plugins > Extension Manager. Note: You can do the following once the server restarts: If you are using Java Web Start:, make sure that you start the Administrator by selecting "Launch Mirth® Connect Administrator" and not by using a previously downloaded Java Network Launch Protocol (JNLP) file. Mirth® Connect by NextGen Healthcare Deployment in Azure®

Mirth® Connect by NextGen Healthcare Setup Considerations

It is highly recommended that both the Advance Clustering and Advance Alerting plugins be installed on the Mirth® Connect instances. The Advance Clustering plugin will allow the user to view message statistics between the nodes and also view the health of the nodes. Together with the Advance Alerting plugin, an alert can be configured so that if any of the nodes becomes unavailable, the proper resources can be alerted. It is also recommended that Mirth® Connect version 3.6+ be installed. This is because the proper JDBC driver required to communicate with the managed Azure SQL database is not natively contained with the older versions. A work-around can be done by installing the latest Microsoft SQL driver with the older version of Mirth® Connect, but this is not recommended. Benchmark testing of both Mirth® Connect 3.5 and 3.11 was performed to identify if there are any performance issues when comparing the two versions.
