Payer Picklist and Payer Defaults

Use the Payer Picklist and Payer Defaults sections to set up which payers may require pre-cert timeframes or allotments other than the default (7 days, 2 visits). You must set up the Payer Picklist before you can set up the Payer Defaults. The Payer Picklist grid comes pre-configured with a default setting of 7 days (from the precertification expiration date) or 2 visits (remaining of the precertification visit allotment) at which time the patient’s name appears on the Pre-Cert Worklog. The Default row in the grid alerts for all payers except payers otherwise listed in the grid to have a different alerting timeframe. Note: Only the payers that are configured in the Payer Defaults grid will have appointments that appear in the Appointments Requiring Precerts grid on the Pre-Cert Worklog. Add a Pre-Cert Company

Adding a company name to this grid adds it to the picklist for the Pre-Cert Company field. Select the Pre-cert company field, and then type the name of the company. Select Add. Parent topic: Pre-cert Companies

Update or Delete a Pre-Cert Company

Select the name of the company in the grid. To update the name, change the text in Pre-cert company field, and then select Update. To delete the company from the grid (and picklist), select Delete. Parent topic: Pre-cert Companies

Pre-Certification Configuration

There are several sections in the NTS Pre-Cert Config template that you must set up prior to tracking pre-certifications (pre-certs) in NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Precertification/Authorization Panel

The grid in the Precertification/Authorization panel initially displays all authorizations entered for that case. When you select a payer in the Insurance Information grid, you then see authorizations for that payer. You can enter new information, update it, or remove authorizations.
