The NextGen® Enterprise EHR Documents Operations Subgroup in the System Administrator application enables users to perform actions in Document Builder. Note: : The Save As RTF Universal Preference must be set to True. Access External Patient Education from the Problems Module

You can access the External Patient Education resource from the Problems module. The external resource collects ICD-9, ICD-10 (as available), or SNOMED CT (Systematized Nomenclature of Medicine Clinical Terms) code information for the selected problem and the patient’s age, age range, and gender. This information is passed through the InfoButton to the external system. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Problems module for a patient. Enter a new problem into the Problem List tab or the Billing ICD List tab, if required. Note: The Problem List tab has the SNOMED CT codes while the Billing ICD List tab has the ICD-9, or where applicable, ICD-10 codes. Do one of the following: Right-click the problem, and then select Resources > External Patient Education. Select the problem, and then select Resources > External Patient Education from the toolbar of the Problems module. The application directs you to the external URL set up in File Maintenance. Add Problems in the Problem List

You can add a problem to the problem list of a patient. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Histories template. In the Problem List panel, select Add/Update. Enter a problem in the diagnosis search window, and select Search. Select the problem from the list of the search result, and select Select. Select the applicable ICD code, and select Select. The application automatically fills the associated values in the Fully Specified SNOMED Description, Problem Description, ICD Description, and ICD Code fields in the Problem List panel. Note: For all new problems, the Mark as Chronic check box is selected by default. In Clinical Status, select the status of the problem. In Onset Date, enter the date of onset. In Resolved Date, enter the date when the selected problem is resolved. If the problem is not chronic, to mark the problem as a secondary condition, select Secondary Condition. Viewing or Adding Synonyms in the Problem List

The View/Add Synonym function enables you to supplement the default system synonyms with a user-defined list of terms that display when you search for a problem. The View/Add Synonym function is available in both the Problem List tab and the Billing ICD List tab. In the Problem List, synonyms are added to the list of terms that display for the SNOMED® Concept when the Fully Specified Name is entered in the search field. In the Billing ICD List, synonyms are added to the list of terms that display when an ICD Code is entered in the search field. Adding synonyms to the SNOMED® Concept and the Billing ICD List simplifies searching for terms and helps to ensure a standard list of customized search results when variations of a term are entered in the search field.
