Control Whether Users Can Open External Applications

To enable users to open external applications from NextGen® Enterprise EHR or NextGen® Enterprise PM, you must ensure that the Allow API Access security right is enabled for the desired user groups. This right includes all methods of opening external applications, whether from the Patient Information Card (PIC) or the Launch External Application template trigger.

  1. In System Administrator, open the enterprise and practice, and select a user group.
  2. Select the Rights tab.
  3. Select OPERATIONS > Allow API Access.

  4. Under Access Rights, select Yes or No.
