Advanced Alerting - SSL Certificate Validation Trigger

Note: Advanced Alerting is a separate extension available for Mirth® Connect by NextGen Healthcare. The following features are only available when both the SSL Manager and Advanced Alerting are installed. The SSL Certificate Validation trigger type for Advanced Alerting allows you to configure proactive alerts that trigger when a certificate has expired, been revoked, or when the Subject DN (distinguished name) has been rejected. Manage Certificates

You can manage certificates and key pairs on the Settings > SSL Manager page. The Global Settings section (top) allows you to configure certificate expiration warning settings. More information here: SSL Manager Global Settings The Public Certificates table (middle) displays certificates (public keys only) that you trust. These could be server certificates returned to a destination connector or client certificates returned to a source connector. The My Certificates table (bottom) displays certificates (public and private key pairs) that identify your server directly. These could be server certificates used by a source connector or client certificates used by a destination connector. SSL Certificate Validation

The SSL Certificate Validation trigger type listens for error events thrown by the SSL Manager extension whenever SSL certificates get validated by a channel. This type is only available when the SSL Manager is also installed. Option Description Validation Errors Select all of the error types you want the alert to trigger on. Expired: The alert triggers when a certificate you have currently imported has expired or is close to expiring. The Cert Expiration Settings (Time Until Expiration and Re-trigger Interval) provides additional conditions to this when Expired is selected. Revoked by CRL: The alert triggers when a certificate has been revoked in a Certificate Revocation List. This indicates the certificate is no longer valid and should be replaced. Revoked by OCSP: The alert triggers when a certificate has been revoked in a response from an OCSP (Online Certificate Server Protocol) server. Item Name Description A Environment name The name of this Connect environment. This is tied to the database, so there is only one environment per database / cluster. B Server name The server name that appears in the Administrator title, taskbar/dock and desktop shortcut. This setting applies for all users on this server. Mirth® Appliance by NextGen Healthcare Certificates

The appliance SSL Certificate window enables you to work with the local certificate authority or to prepare a certificate to be signed by a third-party authority. Your Mirth® Appliance by NextGen Healthcare ships with a local certificate authority and a default certificate installed. Although this certificate functions out of the box, the remote side of the SSL connection may receive a message that the certificate does not match the site name or that the certificate authority is untrusted. If this issue occurs, you can select System > Certificates to modify the advanced certificate settings. The Appliance SSL Certificate window lets you work with the local certificate authority or prepare a certificate to be signed by a third-party authority.
