Balance the Batch
While viewing the Batch Posting window, the batch can be balanced by following these steps: Select Posting or the Batch Posting icon. Image with the batch posting icon highlighted to show what it looks like. Select the appropriate batch from the Batch Posting window. Nextgen EDI EOD Payment File Import Process
Completing the Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) File Import Process requires a series of steps to obtain the patient's Electronic Remittance Advice (ERA) files, import the patient's payment file, balance the batch, and to post the batch. Obtain Patient ERA Files You can obtain your Patient ERA Files from the EDI website. Import Patient Payment File You must import the patient payment file as a part of the Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) EOD payment file import process. Balance the Batch You can balance a batch on the Batch Posting window. Post the Batch You can post a batch on the Batch Posting window.

Print a Batch
You can print the batch record to see a list of recorded transactions. The header record does not need to be balanced before the Batch Listing report can be run. Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. On the main toolbar, select Posting . The Batch Posting window opens. In the Existing Batches section, select the header batch that you want to print. Select the header record you want to print. Select the open menu icon, and then select Print > Batch Listing. The Batch Listing report preview appears. Parent topic: Managing Batches

Post and Review Transactions in the Batch Header
You can post a batch after all the transactions are added and the batch header record is balanced. In NextGen Healthcare posting a transaction permanently records the transaction which cannot be modified or deleted. You must use a correcting transaction to reverse any transaction posted in error. Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. On the main toolbar, select Posting Posting Button. The Batch Posting window opens. In the Batch Posting window, select the batch header to post. Select open menu , and select Post. A message appears asking you for a confirmation to post the batch, and its associated transactions. Select OK. The Batch Listing report preview opens, and a message appears confirming successful posting of the batch. Select OK. To review all of the transactions in the batch, select Print Report icon on the Batch Listing report menu. A message appears stating the printing of the report is in progress. Note: You will not be able to print the Batch Listing report after the posting process

Import the End of Day Files
Before you begin You must setup the end-of-day (EOD) file before importing it. Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. Select File > Processes > ERA Posting. The Import Remittance window opens. Under the Search Criteria section, enter the file or directory information, and then select Import. The EOD file is imported to NextGen® Enterprise PM, and a batch and transactions are created. An import posting report is also created which enables you to view the posted and unposted transactions. Note: The created batch must be balanced and posted. It can then be flagged for posting using NextGen® Background Business Processor.
