Add a Treating Diagnosis

As you review the ordering diagnoses for a therapy patient, the diagnosis you want to apply may not be listed. If the ordering diagnoses do not meet therapy treatment needs, you can add a different treating diagnosis. Note: You can also add treating diagnoses by using Problem Intelligent Medical Objects (IMO). If your practice is licensed for IMO, select the Problem IT button under the grid to open IMO to add assessments. Follow the documentation provided by IMO documentation to use IMO to add assessments. Under Treating Dx, select Add. The Inf Common Assessment window opens. Select the Common Assessments field to open a picklist, select the diagnosis codes page you want to use, and then select OK. The Inf Common Assessment window displays the diagnosis codes page showing all categories and codes that have been configured. Inf Common Assessments template Headers for categories are in bold font. Second Evaluation N/A Checkbox

If a second evaluation is completed within the same case, a N/A checkbox appears above the Treating Dx grid. The system requires that you enter a new treating diagnosis on a second Eval visit. Search for a Diagnosis Code

If you do not see the diagnosis you need on the Common Assessments template, you can search for it. Select the Search field, and then enter the code or a word or words that describe the condition. Select Search. A search window opens with all codes related to your entry. Select the diagnosis code, and then select OK to add it to the Treating grid, or, if necessary, change your search. Sort Treating Diagnoses

The Treating Dx grid show diagnoses in the order they will appear in on the claims form. You can sort the order of the items in the Treating Dx grid, to put the most relevant items for today’s encounter at the top. Select the Sort DX button. The NTS Diag Sort window opens. The top grid in this window shows all diagnosis in their current order. NTS Diag Sort template Select the primary diagnosis for today in the top grid. The diagnosis moves to the lower grid as #1 in the new order. Select the additional diagnoses in the order of their relevance to the treatment for that visit.
