Send NextGen® Document Management Images to NextGen PxP Portal

Before you begin

You must do the following:
  • Add NextGen® Document Management image to the patient's chart.
  • Grant the Send Doc Mgmt Image to Patient Portal Imaging Operation rights to a user in System Administrator.
  • Configure Document Type and Annotations with images in File Maintenance.

You can send the NextGen® Document Management images added to encounters, to a patient's NextGen® PxP Portal account.
  1. Open NextGen® Document Management.
  2. Search for the patient, and select the patient.
    The Search Results window opens displaying the list of images and documents added to the patient's chart.
  3. Right-click the desired image and select Open.
    The image opens in a new window.
  4. Right-click the image and select Send Document to Patient Portal.

    If the document contains annotations, and if the Send Annotations With Image check box is not selected in Practice Preferences, the Send Annotations? window opens to confirm if you want to send annotations with the document.

    Do one of the following:

    • To send the document without annotations, select No.
    • To include annotations, select Yes.
    The Patient Portal Document Export window opens.

  5. Enter a comment or add a standard response.
  6. Select Send.
  7. Select OK.
    The documents are sent to NextGen® PxP Portal and added to the document history. The Sent to NextGen® PxP Portal right-facing arrow icon appears on the right side of the document name after it is sent to NextGen® PxP Portal.
