Add a Consult Visit Code
You can add consult visit codes for financial classes that exclude consult visits.
Note:
The
Consult Visit Codes
grid comes pre-loaded with AMA consult visit codes.
On the
Billing Configuration
practice template, expand the
Exclusions
panel.
From the
Exclusion Type
grid, select
Consult
.
Click in the field below the
Consult Visit Codes
grid.
The
IORTSConsult EM Code
picklist opens.
Select a code in the list, and click
OK
.
Click
Add

Remove a Consult Visit Code
On the Billing Configuration practice template, expand the Exclusions panel. From the Exclusion Type grid, select Consult. The Consult Visit Codes grid displays all codes for that office visit type. Add a Financial Class to an Exclusion Type
On the Billing Configuration practice template, expand the Exclusions panel. From the Exclusion Type grid, select the office visit type. In the field below the Financial classes grid, select the financial class that excludes that office visit type. Click Add. Select the financial class in the grid. All the payers within that financial class appear in the Payers in the exclusion list grid. Parent topic: Exclusions

Move Payers Out of the Exclusion List
You can move specific payers from the exclusion list if they allow the office visit type. On the Billing Configuration practice template, expand the Exclusions panel. From the Exclusion Type grid, select the office visit type. From the Financial classes grid, select the financial class. In the Payers in the exclusion list grid, select the payer. Exclusions
You can set financial classes and payers that have restrictions on Consult visits or E&M coded visits with injections on the Exclusions panel of the Billing Configuration practice template. The Consult Visit Codes grid gives you the ability to configure Consult Visit codes for financial classes that exclude them. Add a Financial Class that Requires Different ICD Codes
You can add a financial class that requires different ICD codes for a procedure. When you do this, all the payers in the financial class enter the Payers in the exclusion list grid. On the Billing Configuration practice template, expand the Non-billable panel. In the Procedures grid, select a procedure. The Procedure description and CPT Code for the selected procedure appear the fields below the grid and financial classes already configured to require different ICD codes for that procedure appear in the Financial Classes grid. In the field below the Financial classes grid, select the financial class. Click Add. In the ICD for these specific payers field, enter the ICD code for that financial class.
