Issuing Patient Education Documents

The Patient Education panel contains the education documents of a patient that are added to the patient's chart. You can print education documents for a patient by printing them or send the documents to the patient's NextGen® PxP Portal account. When you save a patient education document to an encounter, NextGen® Enterprise EHR moves the document to the Patient Education grid in the Today’s Order panel. Create Patient Plans

You can create a patient plan to give to the patient. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Checkout template. Expand the Given to Patient/Verified panel. Select Patient Plan.The Patient Plan document is generated. Print the document, and then select Close. Note: You can also create and send the document to the patient through NextGen® PxP Portal. Create Patient Plan Summary Documents

You can create a patient plan summary on the Checkout template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Checkout template. Click Given to Patient/Verified panel. Verify Items Given to Patients and Check Out Patients

You can verify items given to patients before their checkout. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Checkout template. Expand the Given to Patient/Verified panel. To confirm that an item is reviewed or given to the patient, select the corresponding Yes check box. Select Checkout. The checkout document is created with today's orders. Patient Document Generation

You can generate patient documents in NextGen® Enterprise EHR on the workstation you are logged on to or offline on a remote workstation. Before generating a particular document, make sure that you have selected a patient. Also you can check that all the relevant data is entered into the patient medical record. You can select options to save or print a patient document or send it to a patient account on NextGen® PxP Portal website when it is generated. You can create documents in two other ways: A template may be configured with a Launch Document trigger that you can execute to generate a document. Use NextGen® Enterprise EHR Quick View feature to generate a document in real time as you work on a patient encounter. You can then save and attach the document to the patient chart.
