You can modify an existing procedure as long as it is not assigned to a locked encounter. Also, you cannot make changes to a procedure that has an associated charge processed within NextGen® Enterprise PM. If you have the Auto-closing option enabled in the Practice Preferences and the charges associated with the selected procedure have been processed through NextGen® Enterprise PM prior to midnight of the previous day, the Financial Data cannot be modified due to the 24 hr rule message window opens.
- Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR, and select a patient from Patient Lookup window.
- On the Encounter History tab, select an existing encounter or create an encounter.

The Procedures module window opens.
- In the procedures list, select the procedure that you want to update.
- Enter the changes.
- Select Update.
