Resolve Medication Allergy

You can resolve a medication allergy to indicate the patient does not have the allergy. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Medication Allergies module. Select the allergy you want to mark as resolved. Enter the date the allergy was resolved. Select Update. Parent topic: Medication Allergies Module

Delete Medication Allergy

Before you begin Ensure the encounter that you select to open Medication Allergies module is unlocked. If you need to delete a medication allergy assigned to a locked encounter, you must create either a custom or a new encounter and add a new allergy with the modifications to an existing allergy. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Medication Allergies module for the selected patient. Select the allergy you want to delete from the module grid and select Delete. The Delete Record window opens displaying the confirmation message. Do one of the following: You can select Delete and mark item "Inactive" if you want to make the allergy inactive. You can select Delete and mark item "Entered in error" for an allergy that is incorrectly added by provider. Select Yes to delete the allergy. Select No or close the window to cancel the deletion. Update Medication Allergy

You can update a medication allergy in the patient's chart. If the encounter is locked, you do not have to unlock the encounter or create a duplicate allergy entry. If the encounter is locked, you can update the Intolerance, Criticality, Severity, Reactions, Add Additional Reaction, Onset of Symptoms Date, Resolved Date, and Allergy Comments fields. The following buttons are enabled: Update, Interactions, and Reconcile. Open the Medication Allergies module. Select an allergy. Enter the changes to the available information. Select Update. Open the Clinical Reconciliation Module

You can Open the Clinical Reconciliation module from the Medication Allergies module.In the Clinical Reconciliation module, you can reconcile a patient's medications and medication allergies, create a reconciliation summary, and view a patient's reconciliation history. Open the Medication Allergies module. Select Reconcile. The Clinical Reconciliation module opens. Open the Medication Allergies Module

You can open the Medication Allergies module and acknowledge drug interactions. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR, and select a patient from the Patient Lookup window. Select or create an encounter from the Encounters tab. To open the Medication Allergies module, select Allergies from the Quick Buttons panel. Resolved Allergies and No Known Allergies Indicator

The Medication Allergies module grid displays only active allergies by default. If you select the Include Resolved Allergies check box, the Medication Allergies module grid displays active and resolved allergies. The Medication Allergies module also displays the No Known Allergies check box when the selected patient has no unresolved allergies in the patient chart. When a new allergy is added, the No Known Allergies check box is automatically unavailable. When a currently active allergy is resolved and there are no other active unresolved allergies listed for the patient, the indicator is reset, and the check box is available.
