Reschedule the Expected Test Result Due Date for a Future Order from a Practice Template with an Orders Management Order Control

Access the Orders Management Control practice template. Highlight a future order. Select the Reschedule filter. The Reschedule Order window opens. To open the calendar, select the New Expected Result down arrow. Select a new test result due date. Select Reschedule. Rescheduling the Expected Test Result Due Date for a Recurring Order

After a recurring order is released, the system calculates the expected result date according to the setup in the File Maintenance > Order Tests > Modify Orders > Expected test results field. You can open the released recurring order and reschedule the test results due date in the Reschedule Order window, if necessary. On the Reschedule Order window or on the Update Lab/Radiology Order window, on the Test Details tab, the Expected Result shows (Recurring). The NextGen Status displays Released on the Orders Summary tab or on the Orders Management order control on your custom practice template. Note: For the appropriate order, the NextGen status displays Released on the Orders Summary tab or Orders Management Control practice template. You can reschedule the expected test result due date for a future order or for a recurring order after the order is released. The rescheduled date is for your practice’s internal use only. The lab is not notified of any updates to the lab results due dates. Reschedule a Recurring Order Test Result from a Practice Template

You can reschedule due dates of test results of a recurring order from a practice template that has an Orders Managementorder control. For more information about order controls, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community and download the latest Templates User Guide for NextGen® Enterprise EHR. On your custom practice template with an Orders Management order control, select a Released recurring order. Select the Rescheduled filter. The Reschedule window opens. To open the calendar, select the New Expected Result down arrow. Select a new test result due date. Select Reschedule. If your practice has certain tests that require more than a one day turnaround, set the number of days for these tests in File Maintenance. For regular lab and radiology orders, create an order for an individual patient following the standard order placement process. If necessary, you can reschedule the Expected Due Date on the Test Details tab. If you have saved the order, select the existing order from the Orders Summary tab and reschedule the Expected Test Results Due Date. For future orders, place an order for an individual patient following the future order process. If you are placing the order, you can reschedule the Expected Due Date on the Test Details tab. If you have saved the order, select the existing order from the Orders Summary tab and reschedule the Expected Test Results Due Date in the Reschedule Order window.
