Print Patient Documents

You can print one or more documents that you have generated. In NextGen® Enterprise EHR, generate a new patient document, or open an existing patient document. If desired, preview the patient document before you print it. From the Menu bar, select File > Print, or select the Print icon on the Document bar in the viewer. If you have not previously saved your document, the Save Document window opens. Select OK. The Print window opens. Select the desired printer. To print a group of patient documents, use the Custom Print\Fax function in NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Select OK to print your document. Patient Document Generation

You can generate patient documents in NextGen® Enterprise EHR on the workstation you are logged on to or offline on a remote workstation. Before generating a particular document, make sure that you have selected a patient. Also you can check that all the relevant data is entered into the patient medical record. You can select options to save or print a patient document or send it to a patient account on NextGen® PxP Portal website when it is generated. You can create documents in two other ways: A template may be configured with a Launch Document trigger that you can execute to generate a document. Use NextGen® Enterprise EHR Quick View feature to generate a document in real time as you work on a patient encounter. You can then save and attach the document to the patient chart. View Document Information

You can view document and encounter information, file properties, and user permissions for a selected patient document on the Encounter History or Categories tab. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR, and select a patient from the Patient Lookup window. To view the properties of a document, do one of the following: Select the Encounters tab, Select a patient encounter, that contains the document, and select the button to open the Encounter Details window. Electronic Signatures on Patient Documents

Using electronic signatures enables you to verify the integrity of a patient document. NextGen® Enterprise EHR provides two types of electronic signatures on patient documents: An electronic signature can be captured for the user, provider, patient, or other entity and then inserted into a printed patient document manually. This feature works with both HighEdit and TX Text documents in either the HighEdit or TX Text viewer. The provider signature is automatically added to patient documents approved in the PAQ. Archived Patient Documents

Any time a change is made to a patient document and the document is saved, NextGen® Enterprise EHR archives the previous version to the archive table. The most recent version of the patient document appears as the current revision. You can view the archived versions of a patient document to see the differences between the two (or more) versions as well as restore a previous version of a patient document. Display Archived Documents

Open a saved patient document. Make any applicable changes. Save the patient document. NextGen® Enterprise EHR archives the previous version of the patient document. The Hide/Show archived documents icon appears in the top left corner of the document viewer. Note: The Hide/Show archived documents icon appears only if there is a revision of the document available for display. Select the Hide/Show archived documents icon. The Revision History pane containing all previous versions of the patient Document opens. Select a previous version from the Revision History pane. The selected version is displayed below the current version of the document. Select the Toggle View mode icon to switch the display from horizontal to vertical.
