Add Reactions to Vaccines in Immunization Orders

You can select and add patients' reactions to vaccines that are partially or fully administered in immunization orders. The vaccine reactions available for selection are from the Health Level Seven International (HL7®) VaccineReaction value set. The reactions captured are also sent to the IIS (Immunization Information System), which is part of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

  1. In NextGen® Enterprise EHR, open a patient record, and then select the Orders icon to open the Order module.
  2. Select the relevant immunization from the Order Summary or Immunizations tab.
  3. Select the Vaccine Details tab.
  4. From the Vaccine Reaction list, select the patient's reactions.
    The vaccine reactions are added to the selected immunization.
  5. To modify a reaction, clear the selection, or select additional reactions.
  6. Select Save.
    The vaccine reaction appears in the Order module on the Chart tab in the Reaction(s) column. The reaction is also displayed on the Details tab in the Rosetta Management Console.
