Spelling Checker for NextGen® Enterprise EHR

The spelling checker for NextGen® Enterprise enables you to check and correct the spelling errors while entering text in certain free-text alphanumeric fields. The spelling checker is available only on editable fields. For more information about the fields that enable you to check spelling, see NextGen® Enterprise EHR Modules with Spell Checker. Using the Spelling Checker

The Spelling Checker enables you to check and correct spelling errors while entering text in certain alphanumeric editable fields. To use this feature, right-click the potential spelling error. You can also use the Spelling window. Turning Off the Spelling Checker

The spelling checker is enabled by default, for NextGen® Enterprise EHR. However, you can turn it off by using the practice level or user level settings. Configure the Spell Check

You can configure general settings for the spelling checker. Access NextGen® Enterprise EHR. From the main menu, select Tools, and then select Preferences. The Preferences window appears. Under Spell Check, select Spell Check Options. The Spell Check Options window appears. On the General tab, under Correction Criteria, either clear or select any of the following correction criteria: Ignore words in UPPERCASE. Ignore words that contain numbers. Ignore Internet addresses. Ignore Email addresses. Flag repeated words. Ignore uppercase and lowercase. Under Dictionaries in Use, select the dictionaries that you want to include. Select OK. Turn off the Spelling Checker for the User

You can turn off the spelling checker at the user level. Access NextGen® Enterprise EHR. From the main menu, select Tools, and then select Preferences. The Preferences window appears. Under Spell Check, clear Enable spell check functionality. The spelling checker is now turned off for the logged on user. Note: If the Practice level preference for the spelling checker is set to Off, then the User Preference will be inactive. Parent topic: Turning Off the Spelling Checker
