Set Up Default Medication Search Favorites List
You can set up a medication favorites list as the default. The default medications favorites list displays when you access the Medication Search window to prescribe a new medication. Open the Medication Search window. Medication Search window Select the favorites list to make your default. Right-click the tab or tab display pane and select Make Group Default from the list. Delete Medication Search Favorites List
Open the Medication Search window. Medication Search Select the favorites list you want to delete. Right-click the tab or tab display pane and select Delete Group. Medication Search Delete Group A confirmation message appears. Select Yes to delete the selected favorites list. Modify Medication Search Favorites List
Open the Medication Search window. Medication Search window Select a favorites list. Right-click the tab or tab display pane and select Rename Group. Enter a new name for the favorites list. Right-click the tab or tab display pane and select Make Group Default. To remove a medication from the list, right-click the medication and select Remove. The Medication Module message opens asking you to confirm if you want to remove the medication. Do one of the following: To delete the selected medication from the favorites list, select Yes. To retain the selected medication on the favorites list, select No. To exit without removing the medication, select Cancel. Set Up Medication Search Favorites List
You can use favorites lists in medication search to create a list of frequently used medications grouped by the favorite name. You can prescribe a medication from a favorite list without performing a search. Open the Medication Search window. Medication Search Select the untitled tab. The Favorites 1 tab appears. Favorites 1 tab Search for a Medication to add to your favorites list. The Medication Search window displays the results of your search. The icon indicates there is a PDR Brief for the displayed medication. Medication Search results Select a medication and drag it in the Favorite 1 tab. Select a medicine and drag to Favorite 1 tab To remove medications from the favorites list, right-click the medication and select Remove. Right-click the tab or tab display pane and select Rename Group. The field to enter the favorite group name displays next to Rename Group. Rename Group Enter a name for the favorites list. Search for a Medication
Open the Medication Search window. If you perform a regular medication search, the next time you open the Medication Search window, the Find pane is highlighted. If you use Medication Favorites to search, the next time you open the Medication Search window the Favorites pane is highlighted. Medication Search window Select Use Formulary to perform a Formulary Search for a medication. Note: To use Formulary Search, you must have either Surescripts or InfoScan services enabled. Select Search and select a search type from the list. Medication Search window You can perform a search in the following ways: On all medications On First Databank medications On medications listed on a Medication Search favorites list. To filter your search based on medication class, select a medication class from the Class list. Add User-Defined Medications from the Medications Module
You cannot delete a user-defined medication. The Add UDM button is available only if the Allow Entry of User Defined Medication universal preference is set to True. Open the Medication Search window. Medication Search Select the search type from the Search list. Enter a full or partial name of the medication in the Find field. If the medication does not exist in your database, select Add UDM. The Add User Defined Medication window opens. The Brand Name and Generic Name fields are required. Add User Defined Medication Enter the medication information, including: Form DEA Class Strength Route Add Defaults information, including: Quantity Refills Generic OK Default SIG For Generic Source select one of the following: Single Multiple Unspecified For Status select one of the following: Prescription Only Over the Counter For DEA Regulations, select or clear the Do not allow faxing check box.
