Each day, after the orders have been auto released, the appropriate task work group can review a summary of the number of failed and successful auto released orders in the NextGen® Enterprise EHR Inbox. Auto Release Utility - Windows Service

The Auto Release Utility integrates with the Orders module to track future and recurring orders scheduled for sending across lab or radiology interfaces. With the Auto Release Utility, you can: Schedule an order today and set it to release after six months. Schedule an order to release at multiple intervals within six months based on your needs. The Auto Release Utility offers two installation options: Windows-based service, which automatically restarts after interruptions. Standalone mode, which operates independently. You can install only one format at a time, selecting the one that best meets your requirements. Set up the Auto Release Windows Service You must configure the Auto Release Windows Service to invoke the utility and release order instances. Set Up Auto Release

To enable Auto Release function in NextGen® Enterprise EHR, you must perform the following steps: Set up the Auto Release practice preferences in File Maintenance. Note: If your practice does not intend to use Auto Release, you can indicate that in the Auto Release Opt-out practice preference and stop at this step. In System Administrator > Operations > Orders > Allow Interface Send, enable Send Orders to Interface. In System Administrator > Operations, enable Allow access to Auto Release application. To set up the time the Future or Recurring orders are to be auto released before the scheduled date, access the NextGen® Enterprise EHR Orders Auto Release utility (file name: NextGen.EMR.Lab.AutoRelease.exe). and set up the actual time the Future and Recurring orders the selected practice. View Lab Results

Before you begin You must ensure that you have the necessary access rights in System Administrator for the Orders Module. For more information on user access rights, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community and download the latest System Administrator Guide forNextGen®Enterprise. You can view the results of a patient's laboratory tests. Additionally, you can open the Orders Module and view the order details associated with a result. For more information on the Orders Module, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community, and download the latest Orders Module User Guide forNextGen®Enterprise EHR. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR, and select a patient from the Patient Lookup window. On the Quick Buttons panel, select Lab Results.The Review Patient Results window opens displaying a report of all completed laboratory tests in a flow sheet format, that includes the date and time of the specimens associated with an order collected,test name, and result for the test name. Viewing New Order Tests Results in the Workflow Module

If you select a test order in the Orders module and add result information to it when you save the order, the system displays the test order in the Workflow module in NextGen® Enterprise EHR as a high-priority (!) clinical task. Users can select these tasks to notify the provider (or other appropriate clinical staff) that the results for the test have been received. View the Status of Exported Laboratory Results

After you export any laboratory results, you can view the status of exported results in the Patient Portal Document History window. A patient can view the exported results on the Home page or Inbox in NextGen® PxP Portal. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR and select a patient. Open the Orders module. On the Orders Summary tab, expand Results (reported results - formatted) and select Patient Portal History Details from the Patient Portal list. The Patient Portal Document History window opens and displays the comments associated with the results and indicates if the patient has viewed the laboratory results on the NextGen® PxP Portal Home page.
