Rescheduling the Expected Test Result Due Date for a Recurring Order
After a recurring order is released, the system calculates the expected result date according to the setup in the File Maintenance > Order Tests > Modify Orders > Expected test results field. You can open the released recurring order and reschedule the test results due date in the Reschedule Order window, if necessary. On the Reschedule Order window or on the Update Lab/Radiology Order window, on the Test Details tab, the Expected Result shows (Recurring). The NextGen Status displays Released on the Orders Summary tab or on the Orders Management order control on your custom practice template. Note: For the appropriate order, the NextGen status displays Released on the Orders Summary tab or Orders Management Control practice template. You can reschedule the expected test result due date for a future order or for a recurring order after the order is released. The rescheduled date is for your practice’s internal use only. The lab is not notified of any updates to the lab results due dates. Reschedule the Expected Test Result for a Lab or Radiology Order
Place a new lab or radiology order, or open an existing order. To reschedule the Expected Results date, select the Test Details tab. To open the calendar, select the Expected Result down arrow. Select a new test result due date. Select Save. The Expected Result column displays the new date. Update a Future Order Schedule
You can update a schedule for a future order. Note: Schedules for recurring orders cannot be updated. On the Orders Summary tab, select the future order. On the Orders Summary toolbar, select the Scheduled filter. From the Scheduled filter toolbar, select Reschedule; or right-click the future order and select Reschedule from the list. The Change Order Due Date window opens. Enter the new scheduled date, or select a new date from the calendar. Select Reschedule. Parent topic: Setting Up and Working with Future and Recurring Orders
