Orders Summary Top Toolbar

Option	Description
New	Opens the Create New Order for Patient window for the selected order type where you can create orders for lab, radiology, and immunization.
Refresh	Refreshes the orders in the Orders Summary grid.
Sign-Off	Opens the Sign-off window where you can sign-off for the selected order.
Update	Opens the Update Order for Patient window where you can update the details for the selected order type.
Cancel	Cancels a selected order.
Delete	Deletes a selected order.
Print	Prints the selected order if you have set up reports in File Maintenance. You can select Print Preview to preview the order.
Fax	Faxes the selected order if you have set up reports in File Maintenance.
Send	Sends the selected order to an external system.
Tracking	Opens the Sign-off and Tracking Comments window where you can add your comments.
Reconcile	Opens the Clinical Reconciliationwindow where you can reconcile patient's results.

Orders Summary Grid Columns

The following table lists the columns that may appear on the Orders Summary grid for Lab and Radiology orders based on the pre-defined or user-defined filter you select. Column Description Image Type Opens an icon indicating the order type. This column appears by default for all filters. Comments Contains a link to the associated comments in the Sign-off and Tracking Comments panel. Documents Contains a link to an associated document or image or URL in the Results panel for the specific order. Recurrence Opens an icon indicating a future or recurring order. You can select the icon to open the View Order Schedule window where you can view order schedule. Ordered Elsewhere Opens an icon indicating the order was created outside the NextGen® Enterprise system. Order # The number assigned to an order when you create and save a new order. Pre-defined Orders Summary Filters

You can select orders to view the order type on the Orders Summary grid using the following pre-defined filters: Field Description All (Default) Opens orders of all order types. Labs Opens only the lab order tests. Radiology Opens only the radiology order tests. Imm. (Immunization) Opens only the immunization orders. Scheduled Opens only the future and recurring orders. You can select the Imported filter to display the imported orders. The Imported filter has the following options. You can view the same options when you right-click in the Orders Summary grid. Using the Orders Summary Tab

The Orders Summary tab provides order information in the following panels: Orders panel. View, update, and track existing orders and create orders for the current patient. Results panel. View test results from an interface or manually enter test results and related documents for the current patient. This panel is collapsed when you open the Orders Summary tab, but you can expand it to view its contents. Sign-off and Tracking Comments panel. View and add order tracking or sign-off comments. Results Toolbar

The Results toolbar displays the options to select. The Results toolbar has the following options. You can view the same options when you right-click in the Results grid. Option Description View Results by Provides a selection list to view the results from various tests by lab short description, lab long description, or NextGen compendium description. Resources Provides links to website resources set up in File Maintenance for external patient education, clinical decision support, and external provider reference. Show Only Results Opens only tests that have results. The result values are not grouped by the test or panel name. You can set up a user preference to View Results Only in the Orders section of the General tab in the Preferences window in NextGen® Enterprise EHR. View or Add Comments from the Orders Summary Tab

You can view and add comments from the Orders Summary tab in the following ways: If comments exist for an order, the Orders Tracking Comments indicator displays next to the order on the Orders Summary tab. To add or view order comments, select the Orders comments tracking indicator next to the selected order and the Sign-off and Orders Tracking section displays the previous comments. To add comments, select Add and continue with step 2 in View or Add Comments for an Updated Order. If an order has no comments, the Orders comments tracking indicator does not display next to the order on the grid. To add comments, select Add and continue with step 2 in View or Add Comments for an Updated Order. You can also add comments for an order or view existing comments for an order by selecting the Tracking tab on the Orders Summary tab. Follow the steps in View or Add Comments for an Updated Order.
