Create Radiology Test Favorites

You can define a group of favorites for Radiology tests. You select the testing entity System, set the Order Type to Radiology and give the Test Favorites group a description. To create a radiology test favorites group: Select File Maintenance > Master Files > System > Order Test Favorites. Select New. The Add Order Test Favorites or Modify Order Test Favorites window opens. Select the test entity System or select the NextGen Compendium Favorite check box. Select the Order Type as radiology. Give the Test Favorites group a name by entering text in the Description field. After Test Favorites group is named, select the folder button and use the test list to select tests for this radiology favorites group. Select OK to save the radiology favorites group as you did when creating a lab test favorites group. Setting Up Test Order Favorites

You can create any number of Order Test Favorites groups for use within your Enterprise. When you create a favorites group, you can create it for the NextGen compendium or for the other entity compendiums (such as Labcorp, Orchard, and others). By setting up the NextGen compendium favorites it can save time if multiple systems are used within the NextGen application. The NextGen® Enterprise EHR has standard compendiums available for NextGen, Labcorp and LOINC that can be installed using the Orders Management Console. If your practice deals with labs that have not been mapped to the NextGen compendium, once it is installed, you can use File Maintenance to map the NextGen tests to your tests. Note: NextGen® Enterprise EHR, version 5.7 and later does not come with default compendiums loaded. Practice Test Favorites

Practices can select a predefined Test Favorites group to use for their location. When they select one, they "subscribe" to this favorites group. If changes are made to the original Test Favorites group they have chosen, they automatically get any updates made to it. Test favorites can be created by assigning a favorites list to a practice using File Maintenance. When importing the default test favorites the favorites are created in the lab favorites table. Test favorites can also be assigned by the Orders Management Console to a practice to be used as the default test favorites. When importing a favorites list, if a specific practice already has a practice favorite set up for that particular lab or radiology system to which the favorites are being imported (NextGen, Labcorp, etc.) the new favorite being imported is not added to that practice's available list. Assign a Test Favorites Group to a Practice

Create the group in File Maintenance. Select File Maintenance > File Maintenance > System > Practices. Double-click the desired practice in the list. Select Preferences at the bottom of the Modify Practice Information window. In the Preferences list in the left pane, select Order module > Lab/Rad tab. Select the folder to open the Test Favorites window. Select in the list to select the favorite to add and select the right-arrow to add it to the favorites. Select OK. The test favorites list is now defined as the preference for your practice. Select OK to finish the practice update. Create a Radiology Order Workflow

This procedure provides an overview of the basic steps to create a radiology order. When you create an order, you must complete all required fields that have been set up as Mandatory Data Points in File Maintenance Practice Preferences. These required fields display in red text. If you do not fill in a required field, when you try to save your information, a message appears, prompting you to complete the field. For more information on setting up Mandatory Data Point fields in File Maintenance Practice Preferences, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community, and download the latest Orders Module Setup Guide for NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Orders module. Select the Orders Summary tab. On the Top toolbar, select New > Lab Order. If an encounter with today's date exists, the Create New Lab Order window opens. Add or Modify a Radiology Order in the Master File

Each radiology test used in the Orders module must have a performing entity assigned to it. Before you can apply results to a radiology test, you have to map (assign) a performing entity for each test by using File Maintenance > Master File > System > Order Tests. Note: Currently there are no available radiology test lists from a specific performing entity to be loaded into the radiology list (in the same way you can use the Labcorp list for test orders), so you must define them one at a time using File Maintenance. Select File Maintenance > Master Files > System > Order Tests.The Order Tests List window opens. From the Order Tests List window, select open menu , and then select New. The Add/Modify Order Test Information window displays the Test Details tab. Enter the test order details. Note: If you try to map a code for a radiology test master to a value such as R for Reserved_1 and then try to map another radiology test to the same value, an error appears.
