Delete a Guarantor
Open the
Patient Information
window for the desired patient.
Select the
Relations/Roles
tab.
The
Guarantor
section displays the current guarantor.
Select the
Open Record
button.
The
Modify Guarantor Information
window appears.
Select
Delete
.
The following prompt appears:
Confirm removal of legal guarantor from patient chart?
To delete the guarantor, select
OK
.
Note:
The deleted guarantor is not removed from the
Relationship
section of the tab.

Modify a Guarantor
Open the Patient Information window for the desired patient. Select the Relations/Roles tab. The Guarantor section displays the current guarantor. Select the Open Record button. The Modify Guarantor Information window appears. Modify information for the guarantor as needed. To save changes and close the window, select OK. Parent topic: Guarantor Information

Change a Guarantor
Open the Patient Information window for the desired patient. Select the Relations/Roles tab. The Guarantor section displays the current guarantor. Select the Open Record button. If the current guarantor is a person, the Modify Guarantor Information window appears. If the current guarantor is an employer, the Employer Maintenance window appears. Select Change. The following prompt appears: Change guarantor to? Do one of the following: To change the guarantor to a person, select Person. The Guarantor Lookup window appears. To change the guarantor to an employer, select Employer. The Employer Lookup window appears. Enter the desired Search Criteria to find the person or employer. Select Find. All persons and patients, or employers, that match the search criteria entered display in the Matching Records list. If no records are found, the following prompt appears: No records were found! Do one of the following: From the Matching Records list, double-click to select the guarantor. Select New

Add a Person Guarantor
Open the Patient Information window for the desired patient. Select the Relations/Roles tab. In the Guarantor section, select the Open Menu button, and select Person as Guarantor. The Guarantor Lookup window appears. Do one of the following: If the patient is the guarantor, select Self. The patient displays in the Guarantor section of the Relations/Roles tab. If someone other than the patient is the guarantor, enter the desired Search Criteria to find the guarantor. Select Find. All persons and patients that match the search criteria entered display in the Matching Records list. If no records are found, the following prompt appears: No records were found! Do one of the following: From the Matching Records list, double-click to select the guarantor. Select New to add a person record for the guarantor. The Modify Guarantor Information window appears. Delete a Relationship
Open the Person Information or Patient Information window for the desired person or patient. Select the Relations/Role tab. In the Relationship section, select the row for the relationship to be deleted. Select the Open Menu button, and select Delete. The following prompt appears: Confirm removal of patient relationship? To delete the relationship, select OK. Note: If the relationship being deleted is the guarantor on one or more encounters, the following prompt appears: This person is being used as a guarantor for a patient's encounter in this or another practice.
