Create an Audio File

NextGen® Enterprise EHR enables you to record and play back audio files in data entry fields to simplify storing information relevant to patients' records. To record and listen to voice files in templates, your workstation must be equipped with a sound card, a microphone, and speakers.
  1. Select the Microphone button within the audio field.
    The NextGen Audio Recorder window opens.
  2. To begin recording your audio file, select Record.
  3. To finish the recording, select Stop.
  4. Enter the name for the file in the Desc box.
  5. To save your audio file, select Save.
  6. To listen to the recorded file, select Play.
  7. To change the recording, select to switch from Insert to Overwrite mode.
  8. select OK.
    If you did not save your file, an Audio window opens, prompting you to save your work.
  9. Do one of the following:
    • To save changes, select Yes.
    • To exit without saving any changes, select No.
    • To return to the NextGen Audio Recorder window, select Cancel.
