Enter Additional Export Information

You can specify several options for document exports in the Additional Export Information pane on the Export tab. Additional Export Information For Document Type, select the document type: CCD, Care Plan, or Referral Note. Depending on the selected destination, some of these document types may not be listed. For Confidentiality, select one of the available values. You can change the list of available values for this option by editing the XDS Confidentiality master list in File Maintenance. The confidentiality code selected here is the XDS confidentiality code, which is stored in the metadata for the document. This XDS confidentiality code is different from the confidentiality code mentioned in the C-CDA header section. Configure Exports to File

You can configure options for exporting to disk files by using the File Export Endpoint section in the Data Share module settings pane. In the Data Share pane, select Open the Data Share Settings Slider Open the Data Share Settings Slider. To export all files to the same folder, select Use System Export Path in the File Export Endpoint section, and select (ellipsis) to browse to the correct path. File Export Endpoint To export files to different folders, depending on the practice, select Use Practice Export Paths, and do the following: Select Configure Practice Export Paths. The Configure Practice Export Paths window appears. Configure Practice Export Paths For each listed practice, select in the Edit column and browse to the desired folder. Select Save. For patients belonging to multiple practices, files are exported to the path for the practice that NextGen® Enterprise EHR is currently logged on to. Export Patient Documents to Your Local Disk

To select documents for export, follow step 1 to step 5 in Select Patient Documents for Export. On the Export Patient Documents window, select Local Disk, and then select Export. If you have included sensitive data, the Sensitive Encounter data selected window opens. To cancel the export, select Cancel sending. The Export Patient Documents window comes back in view. You can change your selections, and then select Export again. To continue, select Proceed. After you select Export or Proceed, if a file with the same name already exists on your local disk, a message window opens, prompting you to confirm overwriting the existing file. To cancel the export, select Cancel. To overwrite the existing file, select OK. A Document Export window opens while the file is sent to your local disk. Export CCDs and C-CDAs

The Data Share module gives you detailed control over each aspect of file exports, including the destination, document types, clinical information, and attachments. Note: The Export tab is able to initiate various types of exports, including simple referrals. However, if you want to initiate a closed loop referral, you must use the Closed Loop Referrals tab. Import from a Folder

You can use the Data Share module to import documents from a folder on a hard disk or portable media device. These documents can be Continuity of Care Document (CCD), Consolidated Clinical Document Architecture (C-CDA), or Cross-enterprise Document Media Interchange (XDM) documents.In the Data Share pane, select the Open a CCD File or XDM Document icon. Import From File Select an endpoint, which determines which external system is used for cross-references and which agents are used to process the document on import. Use the ellipsis button to browse to a file. Select Import. If the CCD Encryption Password window opens, enter the password supplied by the document provider, and select OK. Configure Security for Exported Files

When NextGen Healthcare Support configures the NextGen® Enterprise Rosetta Interface Messenger for you, they can configure an agent to handle file exports from the Data Share module. As part of this configuration, they specify the folder where files are exported to. To ensure the security of exported patient Protected Health Information (PHI), you should Use Windows folder and file security options to ensure that the exported files folder can be accessed only by trusted personnel. Ensure that physical access to the server is limited to trusted personnel. If you copy the files to a portable media device, encrypt the device or the exported files using the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) – 128-bit or higher. This step is needed to ensure compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and the Certification Commission for Healthcare Information Technology (CCHIT) requirements for security of patients’ medical information.
