Change the Default Email Profile
The email Profile function enables you to change the default email profile used for the Workflow module.
- From the Admin menu, select E-Mail Profile.
The Change E-Mail Profile window opens.

Using the Workflow module, you can access your email profile. Open the workflow module. The Choose Profile window opens. Note: If you close this window on first accessing the Workflow module, it displays any time you select the Email tab. Select an email profile from the Profile Name list, or select New to create a new email profile. Under Options, select the Set as default profile check box for the module. Select OK. The Workflow module displays all available email messages. Note: Creating a new email profile requires additional setup in Microsoft Outlook®. All of the options in the Admin menu require specific user rights and permissions and are available only to users in a System Administrator role. You can set up a default template that opens when a new encounter is created. You can also select a default Medical Records template that opens from the Appointments window of the Workflow module. To set up a default template for the Appointments window, do the following: From the Template Type list, select Medical Records.. Select the Open from Workflow Appts check box. To set up a default template for new encounters, select the template type from the Template Type list. From the Default Template list, select the template to set as the default. You can customize the display of the main toolbar, mails, batch posting default, lookups, and eligibility verification responses in NextGen® Enterprise PM. Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. On the Profiles window, select Add Profile. A message appears saying A copy of a default profile will be created. New Profile Select OK. In the Profiles section, Profile is added to the top of the list. The Properties section displays the default values for a new profile. View the properties in a categorized or alphabetical list. In the Name box, enter the name for the new profile in place of Profile. This name also replaces the name in the Properties section. Note: Do not use an existing profile name. In the Description box, enter a description of the new profile in place of Profile. The description also replaces the default name in the Profiles section. In addition to the standard appointment statuses used in NextGen® Enterprise PM (expected, kept, cancelled, no show, and pending), you can create custom appointment statuses in NextGen® Enterprise EHR and can be used in the Workflow module. These workflow statuses can be integrated with the Appointment Book. When you select the Display appointment text in Workflow status color option in the General tab of the Appointment Scheduling Preferences window, the text color of scheduled appointments in NextGen® Enterprise PM changes to reflect the color of the appointment workflow status in NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Custom Appointment Statuses for use in workflow are created in Appointment Preferences in NextGen® Enterprise EHR. When the appointment status is changed in the Workflow module in NextGen® Enterprise EHR, the text color on the appointment changes to reflect the status selected.
