Recalculate Dosing Range
For pediatric patients, you can recalculate the dosing range. Select a medication. Select Dose Range. The Dosing Range window opens. Dosing Range Select the Patient Weight value. Dosing Range Enter a new value for the patient's weight. Select KGs or LBs based on the metric system the weight is measured. Dosing Range Dosing Range value is recalculated for a pediatric patient. Select a SIG
After you enter the required medication information, you must select a SIG. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR and access the Medications module. Select a medication. Enter all required medication information. Select or build a SIG. The selected SIG is automatically assigned to the medication. If the SIG contains more characters than the display allows, the text is truncated. If you hover the cursor over the truncated text, a tooltip displays the complete SIG. If the SIG exceeds the 140-character maximum for electronic prescriptions, an alert appears next to the SIG text. Select a SIG You can change the quantity and the interval of the medication by either typing the values or using the arrows to select the appropriate values. Set up the SIG Decimal Rounding Preference
To round the total prescription quantity to the nearest whole number, select the Always Round Decimal Total Prescription Quantity check box.
