Generate Intake Note

You can generate the intake note for a patient using Generate Intake Note on the Intake template. Before you begin You must complete all the intake activities before generating the intake note. You can generate the intake note as a written summary of the encounter from the intake staff or medical assistant. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Intake template. Select Generate Intake Note. The generated intake note opens. Intake Staff Workflow

The intake staff workflow involves documenting the patient encounter on the Intake and Histories templates. The information documented by the intake staff is used by the provider for reference and to proceed with the encounter. Intake Panel Description General You can document the patient's general information. Medications You can view the current medications and medication history of the patient. You can also enter additional prescriptions and reconcile the listed medications with the actual active medications. Reason for Visit You can document the reasons for the patient's visit. Vital Signs You can document and manage the patient's vital signs. History Summary You can document the patient's problem list and social, medical or surgical, diagnostic study, and family histories. Note: The History Summary section displays the patient history documented on the Histories template also. Allergies You can add the known allergies of the patient. Start a Dermatology Encounter

The intake staff begins the encounter starting on the Intake template. Create a patient encounter and open the Intake template. Select the Specialty as Dermatology and Visit Type as Office Visit. Select Established patient or New patient as appropriate. In the General panel, click the Historian field and select the historian from the resulting list. Click Save on the Top Toolbar. Access Dermatology

Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Select a patient or create a patient. Create a patient encounter. To open the Templates module on a patient encounter, do one of the following: On the Categories or Encounter History tab, select Open Template. On Top Toolbar, select Templates . On the main menu, select File > New > Template. The Select Template window opens. Select Home Page - Dermatology, and then click OK.The Home Page Dermatology template opens. To review the page, select the Visit Type. From the navigation bar at the top of the Home Page - Dermatology template, you can access the Dermatology framework templates like Intake, Histories, GET, SOAP, Finalize, and Checkout. Open the Home Page Template

You can obtain the patient summary on the Home Page template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. To open the Templates module on a patient encounter, do one of the following: On the Categories or Encounter History tab, select Open Template. On Top Toolbar, select Templates . On the main menu, select File > New > Template. The Select Template window opens. On the Medical Records tab, select All. Select Home Page, and then select OK.The Home Page template opens. Document the Initial Screening Details

Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR, and then in Patient History, select Open Templates. The Select Template window opens. On the Medical Records tab, select All. Select Screening Note (BH), and then select OK. In the Time Entry Navigation sidebar, select Billing Time Entry, and then enter the start time. Note: You can select the current time or enter the time manually. Select the program, specialty, and visit type. Note: Only programs that the patient is actively enrolled in appear in the list. You can select <No Program> to create an encounter without a program, and then add the program later. In the Individuals Present panel, document the details of the individuals present during the assessment. Enter your plan and discussion on the patient's treatment. Note: You can select Copy Forward to copy existing details from another encounter to the current encounter. Document the patient's assessment and diagnosis details.
