Sedation Panel on the ASC - Physician Procedure Template
The Sedation panel enables you to document details of the anesthesia to be given to the patient and specify whether or not the patient needs anesthesia.
If anesthesia is required for the patient, select the Sedation required check box.
Note: If the Sedation required check box is selected in the General panel, the Sedation required check box auto-selects in the Sedation panel.
Click Anesthesia type and select the type of anesthesia to be given. The name of the current user appears in the corresponding Entered by field.
Click Post op pain management and select an appropriate value from the list. The name of the current user appears in the corresponding Entered by field.
If you select Other from the list, you can type the appropriate details in the Post op pain management field.
Click ASA physical status classification and select the physical status based on American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) physical status classification. The name of the current user appears in the corresponding Entered by field.
Click Mallampati score and select the score from the list. The name of the current user appears in the corresponding Entered by field.
Click Mallampati Grade and select the grade. The name of the current user appears in the corresponding Entered by field.
Click Anesthesia comments and select an appropriate reason(s) for providing anesthesia. If you click Close in the list, you can enter the comments in the Anesthesia comments field.
If the case ID of the encounters is the same, the anesthesia details entered in this panel carry forward to the next encounters.
