The intake staff follows a standard intake workflow specifying the specialty as Dermatology and visit type as Office Visit. The intake staff records all other demographic and medical information following the guidelines established by the practice.
- On the Home Page - Dermatology template, review the patient information entered by the intake staff.
- On the Histories template, review the patient information and modify it if necessary.
- On the SOAP template, in the Reason for Visit panel, document the complete details of the reason for visit or add additional reasons for visits if necessary.
- In the Review of Systems panel, click Derm - ROS in the left navigation pane.
The Dermatology -ROS template opens.
- Click the Procedures quick link.
The Procedures template opens.
- In the Others section, to open the Generic Procedures template, click Generic.
- Click the first Description field within Indications and select the patient's diagnosis for Actinic Keratosis.
- To add indications, click Description and select the patient's diagnosis for Actinic Keratosis.
- Click the first Procedure field.
The Select the procedure window opens.
- Select the appropriate photodynamic (blue light) procedure.
- Complete any other fields as needed.
Note: NextGen Healthcare recommends that you use the Quick Save function to store as template defaults the information you enter for a Blue Light treatment.
- To submit the charges, click Submit to Superbill.
- To return the Procedures template, click Save & Close. .
- To generate the Procedures document, click Offline Proc Note or Preview Proc Note.
Note: NextGen Healthcare recommends that you configure your system using System Administrator to have the document sent to the provider's PAQ so that the document can be signed off.
