Allergies

You can manage patient allergy details of a patient. You can add and review the allergy details of a patient in the Allergies panel. The Allergies panel enables you to add and review the allergy information associated with a patient. If there are no known allergies for a patient, you can select No known allergies. Allergies Panel You can only add the allergy and its reaction in the Allergies panel. The severity level must be added from the Medication Allergies module. For an allergy record, you can select multiple reactions and their respective severity levels from the Medication Allergies module. You can view the intolerance details for the added allergies in theAllergiespanel if theIntolerancecheck box is selected on the Medication Allergies module. TheIntolerancecheck box indicates that the patient cannot tolerate the side effects of the medication. Viewing Patient Medications

You can view the patient's medications in the Medications panel on the Intake template. You can view the patient's active medications and the medications prescribed, modified, and renewed during the encounter in the Medications panel. You can prescribe additional medications, and reconcile them with the medications the patient is consuming. The No medications this encounter check box is encounter-based. If you select the No medications this encounter check box on a previous encounter and then select the Prescribed Elsewhere check box to prescribe medications in the current encounter, the No medications this encounter check box for the previous encounter remains selected. Patients can view their active and prescribed medications for the encounter in the documents. Document a Medication

You can add medications details for the treatment of a patient. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. On the Intake template, in the Medications panel, select Add /Update. The Medication Module window opens. Select Prescribe New. The Medication Search window opens. Search for a medicine from the list, and then select Select. Enter the start and stop date of the medication that the patient needs to take. Enter the quantity of the medication. To mention when and how the patient can take the medication, select Edit Sig:. Enter the number of refills allowed on the prescription of the patient. Enter the problem of the patient. If the medications are already prescribed, select the Prescribed elsewhere check box. Select Accept. Close the Medication module. In the Medications panel, to enter additional information about the medications, select the Comment link. Medications Panel on the ASC - Intake Template

The patient's medication details documented on the ASC -Scheduling Questions template or ASC - Pre admission template appear in the Medications panel of the ASC - Intake template. For information on the Medications module documentation, see Medications Module. The intake staff reviews and makes the necessary changes to the patient's medication details as appropriate on the ASC - Intake template. You can view the patient's active medications and the medications prescribed, modfied, and renewed during the selected encounter in the Medications panel. You can enter additional prescriptions for the patient, and reconcile the medications listed with what medications the patient is actually consuming and how the patient is consuming them. View Patient Medications

Before you begin You must ensure that you have the View access right enabled in MODULES > Medical Records > Medications in System Administrator. For more information on user access rights, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community, and download the latest System Administrator Guide forNextGen®Enterprise. You can view a quick list of the patient's active medications and also open the Medications module to add, update, or reconcile the patient's medications. A total count of the patient's active medications appears on the Medications button on the Quick Buttons panel. Note: The icon indicates that the patient account does not have any active medications records and the No Active Medications check box in Medication Module is not selected. Review Medications Manually

You can manually review the medications details that are taken by a patient for adherence to the prescribed medicines. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Intake template. Open the Medications Review template. Select the Review – adherence check box. In the Review – adherence list, select a patient adherence comment, or enter the comment. To review all the medications in the Medication List, select the Review All – Taken As Directed button. The medications appear in the Medication Review grid below the Medication List grid. To review one medication at a time and select a different adherence for each, select one row at a time from the Medication List grid. Each selected medication moves to the Medication Review grid. To move a medication from the Medication Review grid, select Medication List, and select Remove.
