Document Specimen Removal without Retrieval Details

The Specimen Collection panel also allows you to document the case where the specimen was removed but could not be retrieved and was left in the body.

  1. In the Specimen Collection panel, click Add to open the ASC Specimen Collection template.
  2. Click No for Specimen obtained.

  3. Click the Method field and select a pathology method from the list.
    The Pathology Type list opens.
  4. Select the specimen type from the list.
  5. Enter the quality of the specimen in the Qty field.
    You can click the drop-down arrow and enter the quality using the numeric keypad.
  6. Click Location and select the location from where the specimen is obtained.
    You can select multiple locations from the list. To add more than one location, click OK and select another location. Click Cancel to close the list.
  7. If applicable, click Procedure and select the applicable procedure from the list.
    The system fills the Pre Procedure Diagnosis description and the associated Code, and Pre Procedure Indication fields automatically with values configured for the procedure in the Procedure panel.
  8. Enter comments in the Comments field.

    • The Clear button clears the data from the Comments field.
    • The Add New button is used to save and clear the data from all the fields to add any new data.
  9. Click Save & Close to close the ASC Specimen Collection template.
    The specimen details upload in the Specimen collection grid.
  10. To remove a specimen record from the grid, highlight a row in the grid and click Remove.
