Add New Links to the Navigation Bar

The Navigation bar is located on the left side of standard NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine, It can launch additional templates that may not be a part of the main workload or to return back to templates within the main workload. The navigation bar slides in and out of view depending on when it is needed. It can also be pinned to the side of the window, so it displays until you change to another template. The list of templates in the navigation bar is based on the specialty being used in the patient encounter.
  1. On the Custom Navigation practice template, click in the Specialty field and select a specialty.

  2. Enter or select the appropriate values.
The following table lists the fields you will use to create the custom navigation options:
    FieldDescription
CaptionThe Caption field is the display name of the link that appears on the navigation bar.
Template/PicklistThe Template/Picklist field is where you designate which template or list of templates you want to display when the navigation link is selected.
Link #The Link # field specifies where in the order the link should appear. If a previously used Link # is selected, all subsequent links shift down one number.
AgeThe Age field is set to specify whether the template link appears for adult, pediatrics, or patients of all ages.
GenderThe Gender field is set to specify whether the template link appears for male, female or all genders.
  3. Click Add Link.
A new link is added to the navigation bar.
