Pediatric Screening for Well Child

You can document and manage the screening tests and results in the Screening panel. In the Screening panel on the Pediatric SOAP template, you can do the following: Document different screenings for a patient using the screening buttons in the panel. View the patient's screening tests and results from the grid. Remove some of the screening results from the grid. Open the document attached to the screening results, if available. View the lab results for the pediatric patient. General Information for Well Child Visit

You can enter a patient's general information. The General panel on the Pediatric SOAP template displays whether the patient is new or established. You can view the patient's well child age and review the previous well child visits and documents. General panel In the General panel, you can do the following: View the patient's well child age based on the patient's date of birth in the Well Child Age list, and select a different well child age from the Select different well child visit list, if required. When you select a different well child age in Select different well child visit, the selected age appears in Well Child Age. View the patient's most recent well child encounter in the Previous Well Child Visit field. View the Chart Note or Master document from previous encounters using the Open Selected Well Child Visit button. If the previous encounter selected in Previous Well Child Visit does not have an associated Chart Note or Master document, the Open Selected Well Child Visit butt

Review and Update Pediatric Vital Signs

If you need to update a vital sign of a patient, ensure that you are editing the desired record, as vital signs can be entered multiple times during the encounter. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the SOAP template. In the Vital Signs panel, select a record in the grid and click Edit.For patients who are two years or younger, the Pediatric Under 2 Years Vital Signs template opens. For patients who are older than two years, the Pediatric Over 2 Years Vital Signs template opens with the values filled in the respective fields. Edit the corresponding vital sign. Click Save, and then Close. View Pediatric Growth Charts You can view the pediatric growth chart based on the age and measurements of the patient. The standard growth chart measures BMI, weight, height, and head circumference. View Pediatric Bone Age History You can view the patient's growth charts individually on the Vs Charts Peds template. Pediatric Vital Signs

You can document and manage the vital signs of a pediatric patient in the Vital Signs panel. You can add multiple vital signs for a patient during an encounter. The most recent value for each vital sign appears in the corresponding area in the grid. Vital Signs The Add button in the Vital Signs panel opens one of the following template based on the patient's age. The Pediatric Under 2 Years Vital Signs template for patients under 2 years of age. The template includes the Gestational age at birth fields to enter the patient's gestational age in weeks and days. The days field accepts values between 0 to 6. The template notifies you with an instructional text message when the Fenton Growth Chart has been used for the calculation of the percentiles. The display of the percentiles is based on the data in the Gestational age at birth field with a value less than 37 weeks and a gestational birth age of up to 50 weeks. Document the Height of Pediatric Patients

You can document the height of a pediatric patient in the US or Metric designations. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open a patient's record, and then open an encounter. On Top Toolbar, select Templates . The Select Template window opens. Open the Intake template. In the Vital Signs panel, select Add. The Pediatric [Age] Vital Signs template opens. In the Height/length measurements section, select Height, and then do one of the following: For a pediatric patient younger than two years, enter the height in the ft or in field within the 0 – 5.66 ft, 0 – 11.99 in, or 0 – 172.52 cm range, respectively. Enter a value in the total in field within the 0 – 67.92 in range. For a pediatric patient older than two years, enter the height in the ft, in or cm fields within the 0 – 11.99 ft, 10.16 – 406.4 in, or 0 – 9.99 cm range, respectively. Review of Vital Signs on the SOAP Template

You can review and update a patient's vitals signs documented by the intake staff, in the Vital Signs panel on the SOAP template. You can add multiple vital signs for a patient during an encounter. The Vital Signs panel displays the most recent value for each vital sign. Options for Vital Signs The Add button opens the age specific vital signs template based on the patient age and the Pediatric Age configuration on the Practice Configuration template.
