Add a New Contact Lens Type to the Data Set

From the Data Sets Setup template, select the Data Set field and select Oph Contact lens type from the DB picklist. The Data Sets grid refreshes to display existing items in the Oph Contact lens type data set. Highlight the row in the Data Sets grid to be updated. Select Add. The Template Data Sets Setup – [New Record] template opens, and the edit fields are empty. To enter details for a new data set item, select the fields and type in the information using free text. Fields for contact lens type include: Brand Type Base Curve Diameter Select Save in the toolbar. To enter a new data set item, select Clear For Add. Select Close when you have completed adding items to the data set. The Template Data Sets Setup – [New Record] template closes, and you return to the Data Sets Setup practice template. Remove an Existing Contact Lens Type from the Data Set

From the Data Sets Setup template, select the Data Set field and select Oph Contact lens type from the DB picklist. The Data Sets grid refreshes to display existing items in the Oph Contact lens type data set. Highlight the row in the Data Sets grid to be removed and select Remove. Fields Used by the Ophthalmology Contact Lens Type Data Set

Each of the contact lens types configured in the Ophthalmology contact lens type data set has specific information to be set up. These are listed below: Field Description Data Set The Data Set field displays the name of the selected data set being updated. Set Info The Set Info field displays a description of the selected data set. Brand The Brand field contains the name of the brand or manufacturer of the contact lens. This field can be edited as needed using free text. Type The Type field contains the name of the contact lens type. This field can be edited as needed using free text. Base Curve The Base Curve field contains the base curve measurement of the contact lens. This field can be edited as needed using free text. Diameter The Diameter field contains the diameter measurement of the contact lens. This field can be edited as needed using free text. Ophthalmology Contact Lens Type Data Set

The Ophthalmic Contact Lens Types data set is used on the Contact Lens Evaluation – OPH template to populate fields related to contact lens type that in previous versions where hard-coded. When you select the Type fields on the template, a list of contact lens types opens from which you can select the appropriate contact lens for the patient. Because contact lenses are constantly changing, having the Ophthalmology contact lens types data set enables providers to easily update and maintain a current list of available contact lens types to select from when documenting a contact lens fitting encounter. Ophthalmic Contact Lens Types data set Contact lens information in the Ophthalmology contact lens type data set is easily reviewed and updated. Existing contact lens types can be modified, and new contact lenses added using the Template Data Sets Setup - [New Record] template.
