Order Diagnostic Tests by AUC Score on My Custom Plan

You can generate an AUC score for an advanced imaging test on the My Custom Plan template if appropriate use criteria (AUC) has been configured and the orders meet the AUC criteria. If an advanced imaging order meets the appropriate use criteria (AUC), the My Custom Plan template saves the following information: the name of the qualified Clinical Decision Support Mechanism (CDSM) vendor, the ordering provider's National Provider Identification (NPI), the AUC score and the time the AUC was run, the reference number, the order date, and the G code and modifier. The captured information prints on the requisition document. If the advanced imaging order does not meet the AUC (for example, an AUC score of less than three), you can do the following: Accept the score and proceed. If the configuration for AUC certification is set up correctly, you cannot proceed without accepting the AUC score. Order Diagnostic Tests by AUC Score

You can generate the Appropriate Use Criteria (AUC) for diagnostic tests. Before you begin You must configure the AUC in File Maintenance and map them in the Care Guidelines Setup practice template for a patient to generate an AUC score for an advanced imaging test and then place the appropriate order. In the Practice Configuration practice template, you must ensure that the Enable Appropriate Use Criteria (AUC) Rules check box is selected and the Enable Order Module check box is not selected. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. On a patient encounter, open any of the standard visit templates (for example, the Intake) template. On the template header, select the Care Guidelines link. The Care Guidelines Paged View template opens. In the Care Guidelines grid, select a diagnostic test. The AUC Score Wizard opens. AUC Validation on Advanced Imaging Orders

The AUC score is used to validate the appropriateness of an Advanced Imaging order. You can initiate the American College of Radiology (ACR) Appropriate Use Criteria (AUC) score wizard from the Assessment And Plan or Procedure Order cardiology templates by selecting a radiology order or cardiology procedure such as a CT, MRI, PET, Echo, or ECG. The AUC wizard displays the AUC score, which indicates whether the selected order is the most appropriate imaging test for a specific clinical condition or not. You can either accept or cancel the AUC score. If you accept the AUC score, the Assessment And Plan or the Procedure Order template records the AUC score and prints it on the requisition document. After the order is placed, the AUC score label no longer appears on the Assessment And Plan and Procedure Order cardiology templates. Submit Advanced Imaging the Order to Orders Module

You can submit a selected Advanced Imaging order from the Process and Submit Lab/Radiology Orders template to the Orders module. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Intake - Cardiology template. Click the Cardiac Orders panel. Click the Lab/Radiology Order Processing link. The Process and Submit Lab/Radiology Orders template opens. Select the Radiology option. Click the Vendor field and double-click the vendor option from the resulting list. Under Today's Orders, select the order row, and click Process/Submit. To move the order to the Orders for Selected Vendor section, click the arrow Include selected order. To include this order in the Orders module, click Process Submit. Click Save & Close. Review AUC Scores for Radiology Tests

If you changed a diagnosis code for a radiology test configured for Appropriate Use Criteria (AUC) in File Maintenance, you can review the AUC scores manually to ensure you have the appropriate AUC information. Open the Home or any other applicable template, select Orders from the upper navigation bar, and then select Single Order or Radiology Order. In the Radiology Order template or the Radiology panel of the Single Order template, select the appropriate test from the This Order grid. Select Run AUC. The AUC Score Wizard window opens displaying the AUC score for the selected test. Review the AUC score of the test. Optional: Select a different test from the grid. Note: NextGen Healthcare recommends that you select a test with the same category as the test you selected on the Single Order or Radiology Order template. Select Accept. If you select a different test, the original test in the Single Order or Radiology Order template is replaced with the test you selected, and the AUC values

Access AUC Score Wizard from Procedure Order Cardiology Template

You can generate and accept an AUC score on the Procedure Order cardiology template. On the Procedure Order template, when you add a new cardiology procedure order and select a diagnosis, the AUC Score Wizard window opens. The AUC Score Wizard window appears again if you change the cardiology procedure and/or diagnosis even if the score wizard has already run successfully once. Note: If you cancel or close the AUC Score Wizard window, the application clears the cardiology procedure order selection. On the Procedure Order cardiology template, if the cardiology procedure or radiology order has been processed and submitted to the Orders module, you can only update the intervals for the order. To make other updates, you must delete the order and create a cardiology procedure or radiology order.
