Opt Out of Recommended Care

You can choose recommended care options for a patient on the Care Guideline Setup template. If you do not want to follow recommended care items of a certain type that are part of a guideline, you can choose to opt out. When you choose to opt out, the recommended care guideline items never apply. You do not see them displayed on the Care Guidelines Paged View or Care Guidelines grid view templates in runtime, or follow them for a patient If you do not want to see any recommended care in runtime on the Care Guidelines templates, you can select both Opt out of Recommended Care (meds) and Opt out of Recommended Care (non-meds) check coxes, and only orderable tests apply and display. Filter Displayed Guideline Item Using the Checkbox

You can filter displayed guideline item that is active for a patient using the checkbox. You can filter guideline items displayed in the Care Guidelines panel for the guidelines active for the patient using the checkboxes in the Show section. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Select the Care Guidelines link on any of the main template. The Care Guidelines Paged View template opens. Expand the Care Guidelines panel. In the Show section, select one of the following checkboxes: Orderables Recommended care (medication) Recommended care (non-medication) By default, all Show checkboxes are selected. All active care guideline items appear on the panel. Care Guidelines Paged View If you opt out recommended care meds or non-meds on the Care Guidelines Setup practice template, the corresponding recommended care items do not apply. Recommended Care Practice Template

The Recommended Care practice template enables you to create or modify recommended care guidelines for your practice. These care guidelines are based on chronic conditions. When a chronic condition is added to a patient's chart, the associated care guidelines display in the Care Guidelines template. You create these care guidelines using the Recommended Care practice template. The guideline may include specific goals, statuses, and compliance items. When you select a row in the Recommended Care grid, the associated goal, status, and compliance details appear in the corresponding grids on the right. Goals: Provide parameters for a patient to meet when following a particular guideline. Status: Provides status for a guideline to determine if it is a new guideline or an existing one that might be changed. Setting Up Recommended Care Guideline Items

You can set up the recommended care guideline item using the Recommended Care practice template. After you have reviewed the custom DB picklists used by recommended care guidelines for content, recommended care guidelines themselves should be reviewed. Recommended care guideline items are reviewed and maintained on the Recommended Care practice template. Care Guidelines Overview

You can set up the care guidelines for a patient using the Care Guidelines template. Care Guidelines are made up of care guideline orderables (formerly protocols) and recommended care items with minimal difference in case of clinical workflow. Some guideline items are performed on a specific time interval, which is indicated by a date in the Due column, and others are not. Items with due dates are ordered, while items without a due date are listed as a reminder to the provider to review them with the patient and update their status without having to place orders. For configuration and setup purposes, care guidelines are separated into two types, care guideline orderables and recommended care. Each type of guideline is configured differently. Care Guideline Orderables are those items that are associated with orders in the application; they have CPT® billing and compendium codes. Recommended Care items do not appear in the Orders table.
