Vital Signs
You can add, edit or remove vital signs for a patient using the Vital Signs panel. In the Vital Signs panel you can view vital signs documented during this encounter. You can edit ot remove previously entered vital signs and enter new vital signs. The Vital Signs panel is also available on other office visit templates. The Historical information entered this encounter link opens the Vital Signs History template filtered to display only vital signs documented with patient's encounter. Using the History link, you can review the patient’s entire vital signs history on the Vital Signs History template. Using the Graphs link, you can view vital signs in graphical format on the age-appropriate VS Charts template. Vital Signs The vital signs templates are based on age. The age-appropriate template opens depending on whether the patient is less than two years old, equal to or greater than two years old, or an adult. Care Guidelines Grid View
You can follow a disease or condition and health maintenance during a patient encounter on the Care Guidelines grid view template. The Care Guidelines grid view template displays only active guideline items that are due in a data grid in the Care Guidelines panel. Workflow on the Care Guidelines grid view template starts in the Care Guidelines panel. To use the care guidelines system with a patient, you have to activate a guideline. Then you can perform the tasks of reviewing and updating the status of individual guideline items in the Care Guidelines panel. Care Guidelines The activities include: Activate new or update current active care guidelines for the patient Document and update risk indicators for health maintenance Review, place orders, and update the status of guideline items Review and update diagnostic studies performed prior or elsewhere The Care Guidelines grid view template also provides access to additional information that providers may find helpful, such as screening

Document Counseling and Education Details
You can document patient's counseling and education details using the Counseling Details template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Select the Care Guidelines link on any of the main template.The Care Guidelines Paged View template opens. In the Care Guidelines panel, select the Grid View link.The Care Guidelines grid view template opens. Expand the Nutrition panel, select the Details link.The Counseling Details template opens. Documenting Patient Nutrition and Counseling
You can document the details for patient's nutrition and dietary habits using Nutrition panel. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Document Nutritional Assessment Information
You can capture data related to a patient's eating disorder and other nutritional data. You can view and document details about a patient's nutritional assessment on the Nutritional Assessment template. In NextGen® Enterprise EHR, in Patient History, select the Templates button. The Select Template window opens. On the Medical Records tab, select All. From the list, select Nutritional Assessment (BH), and then select OK. Expand the Today's Vital Signs panel, and enter the patient's vital signs and weight history information. Note: In the Dental Symptoms section, you can document a pain plan by selecting a record in the Vitals record, and then selecting Edit. The Pain Plan link is located in the Pain Level section. Enter the patient's weight and basal metabolic rate information in the Weight and Metabolic Rate panel. Note: This data is calculated from the BMI statistics collected in the Today's Vitals panel. Care Guidelines Grid View Template
You can document the care guidelines details for a patient using the Care Guideline Grid View template. The Care Guidelines panel on the Care Guidelines grid view template displays the items that are due for the patient. You can view the following panels on the Care Guidelines grid view template: Care Guidelines Recent Orders Screening Questions Metrics Vital Signs Immunizations Nutrition Drug Therapy The Care Guidelines grid view template offers basic functionality for activating and tracking guidelines for the patient. You can document the diagnostic studies that are performed previously or elsewhere on the Diagnostic History Entry template using the Diagnostics link on the Care Guidelines grid view template. You can document studies completed previously or performed elsewhere and capture their LOINC® or SNOMED® codes, screening questions and a patient’s history with drug therapy using the Care Guidelines History link on the Historical Test – Quick Entry template.
