Links and Buttons on the ASC Documentation Log

Element	Description
Quick Save	Allows you to save the documented values as the default set for future use in the template. For more information on Quick Save, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community, and download theGetting Started User Guide for NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine.
Link Vitals	Opens the Vital Signs Monitoring template to link vital signs records to an entry type.
Add Follow Up	Allows you to link an entry type to another entry type
Show Linked Vitals	Allows you to view vital signs records linked to an entry type.
Show Linked Records	Allows you to view the entries linked to an entry type.
Add/Edit Comments	Opens the Documentation Log Comments template to add or edit comments for a selected entry.
Entry label and arrows	Used to go to saved entries for the patient.

Link Vitals and Records

The Link Vitals button is used to link patient's vital signs records to an existing entry. The patient's vital signs are documented in the Vital Signs Monitoring panel. Note: To display the Link Vitals, Show Linked Vitals, and Show Linked Records buttons in the Documentation Log panel, you must clear the Disable linked vitals and linked records functionality checkbox in the Documentation Log panel on the Documentation Log Config practice template. Select an entry from the grid in the Documentation Log panel. The Link Vitals button activates. Select Link Vitals.The Vital Signs Monitoring template opens. The template includes a list of vital signs records documented in the Vital Signs Monitoring panel for the current encounter. Select a row of vitals to be linked to the entry. Enter Assessments, Adverse Events, and Quick Notes for the Procedure

The ASC Documentation Log template allows you to document patient's assessments, routine quick notes, any adverse events that occurred during the procedure, and the nursing diagnosis and nursing assessments initiated for the patient. This template is configured on the Documentation Log Config practice template. For more information on the configuration of the navigational tabs, entry type, categories/sub-categories, and descriptions on the ASC Documentation Log template, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community, and download Documentation Log Config Practice Template for NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine. The ASC Documentation Log template has a dynamic flow that displays additional content after each selection. As the flow progresses, you may need to select the navigation tabs above the grid to enter additional content. From the Documentation Log panel, select Add to open the ASC Documentation Log template. View Linked Vitals

The Show Linked Vitals button is used to view the vitals linked to an existing entry. Select an entry from the grid in the Documentation Log panel. The Show Linked Vitals button activates if the vital signs are linked to the selected entry. Select the Show Linked Vitals button.The Link Vital Signs template opens with the vitals linked to the entry, if any. To unlink the vitals from the entry, highlight a row in the grid and select the Unlink button. Select Close. View the Total Medications Details of a Procedure

The Medication Totals link opens the ASC Medication Totals template. The template holds the medication names and total dosage of each medication given to the patient. In the Documentation Log panel, the medications documented for each procedure upload to the ASC Medication Totals template. However, to add medications in the ASC Medication Totals template, you must select the Include in Medication Totals checkbox for a medication entry in the Documentation Log panel on the Documentation Log Config practice template. Add Comments on the ASC Documentation Log Entries

Comments can be added to entries documented on the ASC Documentation Log template. To add comments for an entry type, select Add/Edit Comments to open the Documentation Log Comments template. Select the desired row in the grid. Enter any additional comments in the Comments field and select Update. The comments appear under the Comments column in the grid. You can use the My Phrases link at the top-right of the Comments field to add comments in the Comments field. The My Phrases/ Common Phrases link allows you to create a phrase that displays in the list opened from the My Phrases link. Add Follow-up to an Existing Entry

The Add Follow Up button is used to add a follow-up entry to an existing entry. Note: To display the Add Follow Up button in the Documentation Log panel, you must clear the Disable linked vitals and linked records functionality checbox in the Documentation Log panel on the Documentation Log Config practice template. Select an entry from the grid in the Documentation Log panel. The Add Follow Up button activates. Select Add Follow Up. Select the appropriate values from the left panes and the right grid to document follow-up. Select Save & Close.The follow-up entry adds to the grid in the Documentation Log panel.
