Edit a List Item in a Custom DB Picklist
Open
NextGen® Enterprise EHR

In the top grid of the
Custom DB Picklists
template, select a DB picklist name.
The selected DB picklist appears in the
DBPicklist Name
field.
Ensure the
Show selected DBPicklist
option is selected.
The exiting list items in the selected DB picklist populate the
Step 2 Add/Edit List Items
grid.
Note:
The fields that cannot be edited have dimmed labels.
In the
Step 2 Add/Edit List Items
grid, select the row you want to edit.
The list item details populate the fields below the grid.
Make the necessary edits.
Select
Update
.
The selected row is updated.
Select
Save and Close
.

Add List Items to a DB Picklist
Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. From the top grid, select the row of the DB picklist.The selected DB picklist details populate the Step 2 Add/Edit List Items grid. Note that: The Show selected DBPicklist option is selected to display the associated list items. The Show Only Editable Rows option displays the values of the custom DBPicklist that can be modified. Select Add New List Item link.The Get Dbpicklist Names list opens. Select the appropriate DB picklist name and select OK.Upon return to the Custom DB Picklists template, the List Item field at the bottom of the panel is enabled and ready for input. To customize the DB picklist for a specific practice, location and provider, select the relevant Practice ID, Location Name, and/or Provider Name. Note: By default, list items retain the options set for the DB picklist. Add Triggers to the Fields
After creating a custom DB picklist in the Custom DB Picklists system template, you can add triggers to a text field on any template using Template Editor. This enables you to open the newly created custom DB picklist to select a value for the field. In Template Editor, create a copy of the template to be modified and save the new copy with a unique name, as detailed below: Open NextGen® Template Editor. From the File menu, select Open.The Open window appears. In the Template name field, enter the template name to be modified. Select Open, then from the File menu, select Copy Template.The Copy Template opens. In the Template name field, enter a unique name for the template. The format for naming the file is XXX_Filename, where XXX is the system's abbreviation to identify the template. Select Make Shared. Select Copy.A copy of the template opens in Template Editor. Remove a Custom DB Picklist Item
Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. In the top grid of the Custom DB Picklists template, select the DB picklist name.The selected DB picklist appears in the DBPicklist Name field. Expand the Step 2 Add/Edit List Items panel.The Show selected DBPicklist option displays the existing list items of the selected DB picklist. Select a row to delete. Select Remove. Configure a Custom DB Picklist
Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. In the top grid of the Custom DB Picklists template, select the custom DB picklist that you want to configure. Do one of the following: If a custom DB picklist uses only Qualifier 1 and Qualifier 2, it is managed from the Step 2 Add/Edit List Item panel grid. If the custom DB picklist has more than two qualifiers, the Step 2 Add/Edit List Items panel is collapsed and the Configure button appears to the right of the panel label, skip to step 3. Note: If you want to customize a care plan DB picklist for a specific practice, you need a record in the names table containing the selected practice ID. Select Configure.The Custom DB Picklist Setup template opens. Select Add New List Item link to add a new list item.The fields above the grid become available for documentation. Review Custom DB Picklists Used with Recommended Care
You can review DB picklist on the Custom DB Picklists template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. On the Custom DB Picklists system template, select the DB picklist to review. The selected DB picklist appears in the DBPicklist Name field. Items in the DB picklist appear in the Step 2 Add/Edit List Items grid. Custom DB Picklists In the Step 2 Add/Edit List Items panel, select Show selected DBPicklist (above). In the Step 2 Add/Edit List Items grid, select the row in the grid with the item to review. Details for the row appear in the edit fields below the Step 2 grid. Step 2 Add/Edit List Items Review all items found in the DB picklist. Make changes to an existing DB picklist item using the edit fields below the grid, and select Update. Note: Each DB picklist for recommended care has different required fields. Save and close when you are finished. Note: When a DB picklist is selected in the top grid, the value A in the Edit column indicates that you can only add items to the custom DB pickl

You can add a custom DB picklist for recommended care guideline using the Custom DB Picklists template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Custom DB Picklists system template. Select the Add New List Item link above the Step 2 Add/Edit List Items grid. A list of custom DB picklists currently in the system opens. Step 2 Add/Edit List Items Select a DB picklist name from the list. Use the edit fields below the grid to create the item, and then select Add to add the item to the DB picklist.
