Add New Medication Billing Data Set Items

  1. On the Data Sets Setup template, select Data Set, select Medication Billing from the resulting list and then select OK.
    The existing data set items associated with the Medication Billing data set appear in the grid.

  2. Select Add.
    The Template Data Sets Setup – [New Record] template opens.

  3. Select Category and select the category for the medication.
  4. If applicable, select Type and enter the type of category.
    The value entered is used to designate the type of intraocular injection.
  5. Select Med or J Code, and on the Select Procedure window, search for to select the desired medication and then select OK.
    Selecting the mediation automatically populates J Code with the associated J Code and vice-versa.
  6. Select Proc Code, search for to select the desired procedure code and then select OK.
    The value entered in Proc Code is used to identify the procedure code billed with intraocular injection.
  7. Select Amount and enter the amount of medication on the numeric keypad.
  8. Select Unit and select the measured units.
    The entry made in Amount and Unit is used to calculate the correct billing units to submit for billing.
  9. If applicable, enter the volume of medication in Volume.
  10. If required, select Billing Units, and then enter the unit on the numeric keypad.
    The volume and billing units are used based on the drug. If you have another set of medication, select Combo Med and repeat steps 3 to 10.
  11. Select Save, and then select Close.
    The newly configured data set item appears in the Data Sets Setup template.
