Add a New Service Code Mapping Using a Default Mapping
On the Service Code Mapping system template, select a practice from the Filter by field. The service code mappings associated with the selected practice appear in the grid. Highlight a row in the grid. The selected data populates in the corresponding fields above the grid. Update the fields in the Map Service Code section with the appropriate values. Click Add. Note: An alert on the Service Code Mapping system template helps prevent duplicate entries of the Payer, Visit type, and Provider Level. A newly created service code mapping appears in the grid. To modify a grid entry, highlight the entry to populate the fields above with the data, make the changes and click Update. To delete committed data, highlight the grid row and click Remove button. Copy a Default Set from One Practice to Another
The Service Code Mapping system template includes default code mappings for the Behavioral Health specialty and enables you to copy the default code mappings packaged with NextGen® Enterprise to create new mappings. The system template also provides the ability to copy defaults from one practice to another. You can create a client-specific default that can be used as a starting point for other practices without modifying the default code mappings. On the Service Code Mapping template, click the Copy from field and select the practice you wish to replicate. Click OK. Click the to field and select the practice name. Click OK. The system enables the Copy button once a selection has been made. Click Copy. Click Yes to the confirmation message which states that the data for this practice will be overwritten. Service Code Mapping
The Service Code Mapping system template provides a custom solution where each Behavioral Health practice can map service codes to several parameters. Once these parameters are configured, a stored procedure is used in run time to assist the user in the process of determining the appropriate service code based on the information documented in the current encounter. The following parameters can be mapped to a service code: Practice Payer Visit type Licensure Provider Level Require E&M code Require additional code Time-based NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine is packaged with a default set of service code mappings. Service Code Mapping
The Service Code Mapping system template is used in conjunction with a stored procedure to calculate a service code based on practice, payer, visit type, licensure, and whether the charge is time-based. An alert is prompted if an E&M code or an additional code is required based on the code configuration completed on the Service Code Mapping template. The system template includes default code mapping and the ability to copy the default code mapping packaged with the latest version of NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine used at the practice. The template also enables users to copy configurations from one practice to another. You can create a client-specific default that can be used as a starting point for other practices without modifying the default data packaged with NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine. Figure 1. . Access the SNOMED Config Practice Template
From the File menu, select System \ Practice Template. On the Select Template window, click the Practice tab. In the Show section, select All to see a complete list of practice templates. To access the SNOMED Configuration practice template: Double-click SNOMED Configuration. Select SNOMED Configuration and then click OK. The SNOMED Configuration practice template appears.
