Document Incoming Referrals

You can document referral details for the incoming referrals. From the Tis Incoming Referrals window, select the Incoming Referrals tab. Incoming Referrals window Expand the Referrals panel. Referrals panel Enter the referral details in the respective fields. Note: The Referral Date and Program fields link future documentation to this referral. Select Add.The referral information appears in the grid. Optional: To update an existing referral, select the item in the grid, make the required modifications, and then select Update. Optional: To delete an existing referral, select the item in the grid, and then select Delete Row. Note: If you delete a row in the Referrals panel, you must manually delete the remaining information from the Insurance Info, Contact, Appointment, and Documents panels that refer to the deleted referral. Add Documentation to Incoming Referrals

You can document the details about the documentation related to an incoming referral. You can identify the document name, the referring agency, the dates needed, and the received date. You can link each document to an existing referral to track documents across multiple referrals, if needed. From the Tis Incoming Referrals window, select the Incoming Documentation tab. In the Documents panel, select the document name. Note: If the document is not in the picklist, you can select Cancel to enter free text in the Document Name field. In the Referring Agency field, select the agency. Note: If the agency is not available in the picklist, you can select Cancel to enter free text for the agency name. Enter the received date, expiration date, and comments. Select whether the documentation is complete for the referral. To link your entry to the referral, select Ref Date and Ref Program. Select Add. You can document contact details of the incoming referrals. From the Tis Incoming Referrals window, select the Referral Contact Appt Scheduling tab. Expand the Contact panel. Referral Contact Panel Enter contact details in the respective fields. Note: Link your entry to the referral using the picklists from the Ref Date and Ref Program fields. Select Add. The information appears in the grid. Note: If you select Save from the top toolbar, the window saves and closes. To avoid closing the template between each tab completion, select the next tab. The information is saved when added to the grid. Optional: To update information, select the item in the grid, make the required modifications, and then select Update. Managing Incoming Referrals

You can manage incoming referrals from outside agencies, internal referrals, as well as self or family referrals. You can use the Tis Incoming Referrals window to document incoming referrals from inception through completion. This includes documenting the type of referral, referral dates, appointments offered, basic demographics and insurance and outreach efforts. Incoming Referrals window To open the Tis Incoming Referrals window, you can either have a Packet Navigation or a medical records template open to be able to select the Incoming Referral link. You can select the Medications or Immunizations links at any time during the encounter to open the associated module. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open a patient's record, and then open an encounter. Open the Intake template, select the Family Practice specialty and Office Visit visit type, and then select My Plan.The My Plan window opens.
