Install a New Extension
Extensions are packaged into ZIP files. To install an extension in
Mirth® Connect
:
Navigate to the
Install Extension from File System
section at the bottom of the Extensions view.
Select the
Browse...
button, then select the ZIP file of the extension you would like to install.
Select the
Install
button. If the extension ZIP file is valid, you will see a notification asking you to restart the server:
Restart the
Mirth® Connect
server and launch the
Mirth® Connect
Administrator
again.
You will see the new extension listed in either the
Installed Connectors Table
or
Installed Plugins Table
, depending on the type of extension you installed.

Backup Current Server Configuration
Before you begin A Server Configuration file is a snapshot of your current server settings, including all channels, alerts, scripts, and other properties. This configuration may be backed up from one Mirth® Connect server and restored into a different server. Note: If you have just installed Mirth® Connect and you do not yet have any channels or other configurations, you can skip this section. Use the following steps to backup your server configuration Log into the Mirth Connect Administrator (see Mirth Connect Administrator Overview) . In the Mirth Connect pane, select Settings. Select the Server tab. In the Server Tasks pane, select Backup Config. Enter a location to save the server configuration XML file, then select Save. Review the Information message, then select OK. Warning: The Server Configuration file does not include Users, Events, or Message / Attachment data. To export events, see Searching Events. Installed Plugins Table
The Installed Plugins table at the top of the Extensions view displays all plug-ins that are installed for your Mirth® Connect server. Plug-ins are extensions, but separated from connectors for simplicity. For general information about working with tables in Mirth® Connect, see Working With Tables. Installed Plugins Table Columns Column Description 1 Status Indicates whether the plug-in is enabled or disabled. 2 Name The name of the plug-in. 3 Author The development author of the plug-in. This is NextGen Healthcare for all official extensions. 4 URL A link to the author website. 5 Extended Version The version of this extension. 6 Extension Build The specific build number of this extension, if applicable. For "core' extensions that come bundled with Mirth® Connect by default, this build number is equal the build number of Mirth® Connect itself. 7 MC Versions The versions of Mirth® Connect that this version of this extension is compatible with. Installed Connectors Table
The Installed Connectors table at the top of the Extensions view shows all source or destination connectors that are installed for your Mirth® Connect server. A connector is a type of extension, but are separated here into their own table for simplicity. For general information about working with tables in Mirth® Connect, see Working With Tables. Installed Connectors Table Columns Column Description A Status Indicates whether the connector is enabled or disabled. B Name The name of the connector. C Author The development author of the connector. This will be NextGen Healthcare for all official extensions. D URL A link to the author website. E Extension Version The version of this extension. F Extension Build The specific build number of this extension, if applicable. For "core' extensions that come bundled with Mirth® Connect by default, this build number equals the build number ofMirth® Connect itself. G MC Versions The versions of Mirth® Connect that this version of this extension is

Extension Tasks
The following context-specific tasks are available from the Extensions View: Task Icon Task Name Description Refresh Updates the installed connectors and installed plugins tables. Enable Extension Enables the extension so that it can be used in your Mirth® Connect installation. This requires a restart of the server. Disable Extension Disables the extension so that it can no longer be used in your Mirth® Connect installation. This requires a restart of the server. Warning: Channels / alerts / resources that depend on an extension that you disable may stop functioning correctly. For example, channels may show up in the Channel Table as "invalid" if a connector or data type it was using has been disabled. Show Properties Displays properties for the currently selected connector or plugin. For additional information, see Show Properties Uninstall Extension Uninstalls the extension completely from your Mirth® Connect instance. This requires a restart of the server. Mirth® Connect Administrator
The Mirth® Connect Administrator is the graphical user interface (GUI) that is used to log on to a Mirth® Connect server and create/modify/deploy channels. See Administrator Launcher Overview for information on opening Mirth® Connect Administrator. It can be accessed from the main launch page in a browser. For additional information on opening the Administrator, see Mirth Connect Administrator Overview. Administrator Layout The Mirth® Connect Administrator includes main view selections and context-specific tasks located on the left side of the window. Working With Tables You can perform actions on tables to make the data easier to view and work with. Monitor Views Management Views Edit Views Other Tasks A number of miscellaneous tasks are available at any time throughout the Mirth® Connect Administrator using the Other tasks menu.
